This is my second go around with using the mobile service from Billy Howell Ford. All in all it is a great time saver and a nice change of pace from what was a solid waste of a morning taking the Bronco to the dealer.

I had them do an oil change, air filter swap, and a tire rotation. They were here ahead of schedule and gone in under an hour. They came to my office and did all of the work in the parking lot. Air filters were swapped due to damn near everyone being out of stock of filters near me and after shipping I was dead even with ford pricing.

I highly recommend looking into if this is an option by you. You may be surprised how big of area local dealers will have the van drive to service a vehicle. There is not an added cost for now but I suspect they will be getting around to charging us for the convenience eventually. Last time out they took care of the open recalls as well. You can also sit there and watch them if you are captain trust no one with my Bronco.

Wasn't paid for this but I am trying to angle the service director to come help me install a microwave drawer this weekend so figure a little positive publicity could earn me some brownie points.

How much extra did you pay for this service? 20% more than going into the dealer? 25%?

Before looking if nearby dealers off this service, I'll need to hear about the cost for this convenience.

Thanks.

Ford dealerships haven't really been charging a mobile price I think is the point. They came out to do some recall updates, no charge of course. I didn't know they'd go all oil-and-tire-change-in-the-car-park-at-work, that's one I didn't expect.

Was just about to say my dealer offers it with no extra charge!
Also our local dealer offers free pick-up and redelivery for service as well. They come get it in a loaner, leave me the loaner to use while it's gone then bring it back. Pretty nice.

I guess if I was unclear this is a free service. Just speculation that it may not be forever.

Used my local dealer to do the mobile service on my wifes focus. Had to replace the cross traffic and blind spot on the rear bumper. We were in Myrtle Beach, opened the garage via phone, did a battery change, oil and everything was done perfect. Will use this service again!

This is timely! I live in Cumming GA and was just about to call Billy Howell Ford about scheduling a mobile service!

Thanks for the positive review on the M.S. As others said no additional cost (yet), we even offer a $10 discount on your service if you schedule Mobile Service or Pick Up/Delivery at my store. We struggle getting it to take off in our area even with marketing, social media and postings everywhere, same with our Pick Up and Delivery service. We are not quite Metro but not full rural either.

I know I have mentioned it before but those of you who don' t know and actually like your dealership please take them up on the offer. Ford ties quotas back to the dealerships and (at least at my dealership) effects our livelihood if we are below the minimum set by Ford and then the "minimum set by my dealer".

It's a great program, get easy recalls knocked out, maintenance and other odds and ends, support your local dealer please!

I lived in Cumming up until 2010 and used Billy Howell exclusively for our 3 Ford’s. Mike Kelly was my go to guy there and I was always happy and impressed with the entire service team there. Glad to hear that’s still the case. Moved to Florida in 2010, a small town with one Ford dealer. They’re awful. Service department is terrible, always booked 2-3 weeks out and not at all helpful or thorough in their work. Sales is worse, I’ve tried to buy 2 cars from them and in both cases ended up going hours away for better service and price. Next time I’m in Cumming I’m going in for an oil change just for old times sake!

The person I talked to when scheduling a mobile service recall said that Ford was funding the mobile service. That the dealer received money for each service call that essentially paid for the costs of providing the service.

Yeah but we all know what eventually happens to subsidized programs
