His point that makes a lot of sense is the wiring. He made the point that no matter what there will probably be electrical gremlins... just a fact of this stuff being almost 40 years old(and using 40 year old computers especially). Rip all that stuff out and get a Painless harness and just rewire the entire vehicle. Itā€™s definitely tempting.

Did 40 year old vehicles even have computers? In the mean time, the point about the wiring is valid...

If I was to acquire a vintage vehicle, I would not want something I could not turn wrenches on to fix. Hate the mix of electronics and mechanics on vehicles. But it's the way it is...

If you think you want the V8... Iā€™d second the 302 roller swap. Thereā€™s TONS of stuff out there for those too.

Just found this bad boy for $800. My dad agreed to go 50/50 on it as our first project car, should be fun! I hardly even know where to start lol, but this thing should turn out pretty sweet!

Really since there is no motor in it, I would focus on body and suspension mods and refurbishing while you keep your eye on craigslist for the right small block ford to drop in it. For the same price you will probably find a f150 or something with a junk body and 351 and a 4 or 5 speed. Maybe a AOD. Swap everything even the axles and you will have something that would make a Badlands look tame.
