After waiting very patiently for months, years - I finally got the call the my FE Bronco arrived. BUT, my rep said, it was damaged. Basically, the windshield frame, windshield and front portion of the roof were all damaged. Probably rode on the bottom level during transport. Maybe the car above was bouncing up and down, maybe it was mine. Maybe the driver drove it a little too far when loading it? I don't know but I am VERY DISAPPOINTED. I don't mind the windshield or even the top being replaced, since that's easy enough but the damage to the windshield frame is really depressing.

The three options my dealer gave me:

  1. We'll fix it and you can buy it - Unclear what the vehicle history will be and quite honestly it doesn't feel like the new car feeling I was hoping for. I'll also need to sign a disclosure doc since the damage exceeded a certain % of MSRP.
  2. Walk away - I'm sure the dealer would love this one.
  3. Take a replacement F-150 Raptor - Not even close for an alternative. Apparently, they can't build anymore FE Bronco's (maybe true?), but not even offering me a Bronco replacement, just an F150. I confirmed w/ the dealer that they meant F150 and not the Bronco Raptor.

Ford needs to fix these delivery issues and take better care of these vehicles.

Here's what you do. An FE is going for stupid money in valuation. I would fix it because it will still be worth more than a non FE that FORD will give you to replace. Let dealer reduce the cost of purchase and drive it off into the sunset.

Try to get a discount and you fix it later, just don't let this go on Carfax, it will dent your resale value big time whenever you decided to sell this car, this not hard to fix.
Dent repair guys should be able to fix it, and the glass would be through FORD.

Maybe it's because we are all watching this launch so closely but this damaged during delivery issues seems to happen far more often than I ever imagined possible. This sucks for you but I think I'd have then fix it as well. Hopefully you get it worked out and your happy with whatever you decide.

It wont have that issue if its fixed by the dealer prior to possession. I think the only place it would show up is on the Ford oasis report.
It can still show up on a Carfax report if the repair shop reports it. If the Insurance company (for transport co) reports to ISO it may show up on the Carfax. Title shouldn’t be affected as damage looks fairly minor.

It is a First Edition. You will never get another one. I would ask them to fix it, but I would leverage the discomfort where possible. I would ask the dealer to remove the delivery fee. They will probably ask the trucking company to remove theirs. I would also send pictures to Ford and ask for 30,000 Ford Points. Then you can negotiate down to 20,000. That should be good for another $1,000 in accessories.

Sorry that happened to you.

Yes, it’s a gut punch because you’ve been waiting for so long, but as someone who has experience in this, the repair isn’t as big of a deal as it would seem.

1.) replace windshield with an OEM Ford glass

2.) replace section of MIC top with a new section

3.) Repair and paint a-pillar and window frame.

That’s not a lot of work at all, and honestly, being a FE, I highly doubt this would have any impact on resale.

Honestly, there is no real replacement, so fixing it and seeing what concessions Ford will offer is most likely your best bet.

Sorry man. This is such a bummer.

I would say keep it, have them fix it.
Order a Bronco Raptor from them
Trade this bronco back into them when the Raptor Bronco gets in. That way they are on the hook for reselling it.

What the heck is going in with these deliveries... so many with damage.. I'd be crying. That's like the 2nd 1 with widow frame damage. Hope the heck mine isn't already wrecked and that's why they haven't shipped it.🙈

Vehicles are damaged all the time in shipping. Most are fixed as they leave the train yard. Inexperienced car haulers damage the other ones

Fix it and forget about it.

It's a FE. Enjoy or sell it

I had a new car come in one time with a couple holes drilled in the wrong place in the roof for a roof rack. The dealer had a great body shop fix it, and you never could tell. As long as it’s fixed right, it will be as good as new.

Still sucks, but I would still take delivery.

If it’s a first edition I would fix it, there is really no alternative. As the above poster mentioned I would get them to waive the delivery fee as they didn’t really deliver it in mint condition and insurance should cover that.

The good news is a new windshield and roof are cheap for Ford and the other section is cosmetic.

still a bummer though and now you have to wait longer. But at least not until 2023 like most.

Unfortunately this happens. Back in 2003 my brother ordered a limited-edition VW GTI (337 Edition). Only 1,500 were built and all were pre-sold. By stroke of bad luck it was on the train transporter and was hit by a severe hailstorm in Denver. The car looked like a silver golf ball (ironic). Of course my brother couldn't just demand a replacement as, like your FE, there were no replacements to be had. The dealer brought in one of those paintless dent specialists and he must have spent two weeks on the car but I gotta say the results were amazing. There was literally zero indication of any damage ever having happened. He still owns the car today.

If I were in your shoes, I would let the dealer fix it, certify the repair, you check the repair to make sure you're satisfied with it, then try to forget it ever happened and enjoy your Bronco while the rest of us wonder if we're ever going to see ours.

That is terrible, completely avoidable. These carriers should be told, flatbed or top only for these. Handle with care is being lost on Broncos, many delivered damaged, wth. What is that, like $1800 - $2400 in damage?

If it were me, in a months time, when hopefully mine arrives, and it is not a FE, but just a BB. I would have them fix it, discount it and buy it. The only thing would concern me is the seal afterwards.

IMHO, still dont let that FE go, total MY21 Broncos total produced is already gonna be small, I mean, year to date produced under 30k right, just imagine how much more rare your FE will be prod wise when all is said and done.

They should be able to fix it in less than a week.

Keep us posted and good luck.
