You never know. Look at what the new Defender is. We all know Ford likes it's "Best in class" titles, so I don't necessarily see it topping the Defender, but I can see Frod try and make the Bronco competitive.
I think it's the Defender's air suspension that really lets it tow that much. Not sure that's something we're likely to see from the Bronco.

The way sunny Joe describes the vehicle size to me, says it's considerably larger than the Wrangler. The width will help with towing. What are the tow ratings of the explorer with 2.3 vs 2.7? I expect similar ratings on bronco.

NM looked it up...5600LB. and it's the 3.0l(hoping bronco gets 2.7eb as I feel it's a better engine longevity wise with pfi/di and CGI)

I expect between that 5600# rating and the ranger 7500#

If the wheelbase proves too long, there is always the Jimmy "Dronco" option. ;)
Ford Bronco My observations from seeing see the actual 4-door Bronco raw, unpainted sheet metal shell JimmyDronco
if only the top were removeable. then with an engine swap it'd actually be alright

Yep it's probably not going to be smoking the tires. But could be a fun little lower cost runabout and also handle some off-roading. Too bad the Jimny isn't offered in the USA.

Here is the article - a company makes kits to add styling cues of Bronco, Defender, G-Wagon, etc.

Yeah, it looks like a fun little toy, kind of like the early 80s yotas, they were decent in the rocks and mud, often because they couldnt power through stuff, but didn't have the power to break anything trying either. We used to but some big ole buckshots on the yotas and just slowly crawl through mud pits that the bigger stuff was having to hammer down on.

Be careful with that. Assumption. The other Jeep SUVs with the 3.6 can tow 4500-7200 lbs, and the Gladiator 7650, yet the 4Dr Wrangler has a 3500 lb capacity, even with the diesel.

(After air spring helpers, heavier rear coils and bigger brakes I tow about 4500 but it can get dicey passing a truck on the highway.)

This is totally a wait and see, especially for the rockmonster version. But I am hoping to see it in that 5000-5500 range as well.

I feel this is a different vehicle than the wrangler. Wider and more road oriented but with off road capability. Just my 2c. well see soon enough

For a standard model I can honestly see somewhere in the 6-7,000lb range for the 4-door and 4-5000lb for the 2-door. For high end editions like the Raptor I see them being inline with the Wrangler.

It's not looking any wider than a Wrangler in any trim we've seen, and it's probably shorter. Not a great recipe for big towing ratings.
