Figured I start my own tribute build. In my introduction thread I went through the story of my '71 daily driver that burst into flames at a traffic light 20 years (my Avatar pic is what it looked like.

I now have my 2021 Big Bend AMB that will eventually look as close to that as possible. So far I've only put weather tech floor mats in it but today I got my Rough Country light bar, tow hook to shackle conversion and front leveling kit (not going to lift it due everyday life issues, i.e. dog, elderly parents and in-laws who don't drive, parking garages, etc.) I also ordered a set of Outlaw II wheels and will be putting BF Goodrich All Terrain RWL tires on it. The fender flares and eventually a hardtop and, hopefully a soft top, will be white.

Other than that the only plans are a cat back exhaust and gear shade top...for now.

Here are some before shots for the record:

So the mods have officially started. Today I installed a Rough Country tow shackle conversion along with their nudge bar. Took a few hours just because I did it in my driveway in 28 degree weather laying on snow and ice. I did have to use a Dremmel on one of the brackets to open the hole for the shackle pin. I'm assuming it was a manufacturing defect.

My wheels were supposed to come today as well. According to UPS they were on the truck for delivery at 7:00 AM and by 7:00 PM the tracking info just stated there was a problem and they are working on updating an estimated a delivery date. Considering the UPS location where they were is about 10 miles from my house I'm not sure how they screwed that up.

I like that lower nudge bar. All I need and doesn’t hide the BRONCO lettering.

It’s also nice because it allows you to retain the factory tow hooks or add the shackle conversion. A lot of the bull bars (light bars, nudge bars or whatever you want to call them) that I’ve had in the past require the deletion of the factory tow points.

then they tell you not to use the bar as tow point.

Exact same wheel and tire package as my old '71. Obviously different sizes though.

Minimal poke but nothing some SAS flares couldn't take care of.

I like it too. I was concerned with the +18 offset that they would stick out too far for my liking but with the 8" wheel width I think that kept everything in check.

You should see if someone with a white OBX would be willing to part with their fender flares for a reasonable price to add to your tribute...I like it!

The build date was 12/4 (my father's birthday) and I picked it up Xmas eve. I was surprised how quick it arrived after the build date.

Thanks.

I've got a few spray cans of white Flex Seal in my basement which is giving me poor ideas.
