Next order of business was to set down and think about what modifications were needed to the Bronco to transform it into my ideal bird hunting vehicle. I did not put my ideas in any particular order but I did list what was going where as there is not of lot of extra room with two dog crates taking up the majority of rear cargo area.

I like this itemized list idea. I think I'll follow suit!

As I did each item I checked them off. Still have a couple left like seat covers for hunting and the radio but I'm getting there.

Turning to the dash, I needed power and the first USB dash docks were not up to par. Mabett’s gen 2 fit the bill and way better than cords snaking down to the console. For the rail, the only one that I could find that will work with the USB dock was the RAM and it needed slight modification. It is a little more flexible than I would like but it works until something better comes along.

For mounts, I have a GoPro mount in the center which secures the rail, two Ram “B” balls with the diamond two-bolt pattern and two Bulletpoint arms with 1” ball ends. I use the Ram “X” phone holder with a magsafe charger which I attached with double sided 3M tape. It secures and charges my phone. The other arm has a Garmin Clip Holder with “B” ball to hold my Garmin dog tracker or any of my Garmin GPS’s with the clip back.

Any more pictures of the dock and rail ? different angle maybe ? We have the Ram rail (and about to buy a second ) but haven't found any pictures of the 2 together to see the usb port access.

I have used Garmin GPS’s since the GPS 45 (1994) and still rely on them. Additionally, over the years I have accumulated thousands of waypoints and POI’s and use the GPS tracks to overlay trails on USFS electronic maps. My current hiking/dog track and train/off-road GPS’s include the 200i, 550 Plus, Tread Overland, and a variety of Instinct, Epic and Fenix watches. The nice thing is they all track my Garmin E-Collars. The Tread Overland is installed with a Bulletpoint arm and Ram mount and I replaced the grab handle with the delete plate. It is direct wired to the Fusebox.

As I was sideswiped in my Escalade a couple of years ago (it really did buff out) and it became a he said-she said, a dash cam was a necessity. The Garmin Mini 2 with the Dongar adapter is unobtrusive and works as advertised.

I needed interior lighting and as everyone says the factory interior lighting is a little dim. I added the rear light and upper side lights which really brightened the interior. I decided to wire the interior upper side lights to a switch as the rear cargo light works exceptionally well and I will have no need to fumble under the steering wheel to turn on the factory lights.

Not the best photo but you can see where I had to take a Dremel and drum sander attachment to access the USB A port. The two USB C ports are clear. Be sure to get the Gen 2 version. You have to take the console apart but it works unlike the Gen 1 where they spliced the hero switches.

The last electrical item in the interior is a pair of 2-port USB A docks at the rear. They are wired to the rear power port and I use these to charge E-Collars and my E-Collar controllers.

Of course grab handles that are actually useful.

Thanks for the quick answer ! Do you think Mabett could have rotated the USB A port 90 degrees and have it clear ?

Even with a mordoor, three dog crates and hunting gear takes up a lot of room. I had to give the interior storage a lot of thought. Starting at the rear, I made use of the tailgate with a Havoc Molle panel and added a lower Molle pouch for my survival kit (fire, water, shelter), an upper pouch to carry dog leashes, E-Collar’s and controllers, and a collapsible water bowl. The other upper pouch carries a tire repair kit, gloves and a few Torx tools. Additionally, I replaced the vent with a Molle panel that has a pouch for dog treats and a bottle opener with easy access.

Forgot to mention the Mountain 2 Metals tailgate limiter.

Not really, with three ports one would be covered or at least partially covered. I'm a bit surprised that Mabett didn't design a rail for their dock. Regardless, it is easy to grind/cut/file access to the USB A.

I purchased an inexpensive pair of rear window Molle panels off Amazon to mount an extinguisher, flashlight and an extensive first aid pouch. A lot for people scoff at carrying an extinguisher but on one of my hunting trips I came across a burned out RZR Pro. An extinguisher probably could have saved that $55K toy. I had a credit with Mountain 2 Metals and ordered a storage bin for the passenger side. Once it arrives I will post it.

Possibly but if I remember correctly, it would be tight with the other circuit board for the C.
