I have been through many phases with my Bronco build, trying to get it just right to pay homage to it's forefather the Gen 1. This is my interpretation brought to life of what I think the Bronco should have looked like from the factory or atleast a model version. The KBD fender flares are not easy to paint and aren't perfect, but i swapped the mounting tape out to 3m, added rubber welting against the body and cut off the button head allen head bolts and mounted with 3m mounting tape and alot of adhesion promoter. The archetype racing badges and the custom painted vintage grill round it out for the most part. So, call it what you will, Throwback, Vintage, Heritage, it's just my vision made into reality!!!

Looks excellent! Love the painted grill and KBD flares. Out of curiosity, what rubber welt did you use for the flares, and where was it mounted? Was it just to gap fill?

Just to finish off edge as the KBD polyurethane flares are far from perfect mold so a little way, CJ pony parts for a 1966-1977 Ford Bronco. Also the KBD's are terrible to get oil out to paint without fish eggs. Also can have pin holes as they are injected into mold.

I'm not a 4 door fan, but I like some of the things you've done to yours :)

I was wondering the same thing with the KBD flares, I put mine on 2-3 weeks ago and that "tape" they use is cheap and awful! I will definitely pull them off and use some 3M tape on them soon!

What rear tire carrier are you using and where did you get the "FORD" letters on the tailgate at? I've been looking for some for weeks, with no luck....?

I also need to paint my IAG grilles edges, Green to match, just haven't gotten around to it yet... And I need to get some decals to cover up the side marker lights?

Which Trail Site Deletes did you install? I bought the DeeZee ones and they don't line up for crap...

I don't want any side steps, but mostly need them, for my short wife, but I honestly hate side steps, LOL! I'm not even crazy about the ones that "clamp" over the OEM Rock Rails...

I had a 2 door reservation but my wife got pregnant with our daughter so I had to switch before build, but I'll have a 2 door as well some day. The tire carrier is RTR I hot through Ford dealership, I used some rewards points but $1,500 retail. It's very modular, accepts a jerry can bracket creaks a little when opening but it's heavy. The letters are same specs as 1966-1977 Bronco. I had a color match vinyl made and it's a perfect match, but a 1 foot square was $139.99. I installed BluMak3D, I won a set to give a review, fitment and quality is great!!! My steps are not something I like either but to help get in and help with rocks as well as my RokBlokz mud flaps. They are Go Rhino RB20 running boards.

Yeah I already have them and agree with your statements about the mold and pin holes. So the rubber goes underneath the flare correct?

Regarding the rubber welting I added, I stripped all mounting tape off and got 3m, I did mounting tape rubber welting and another layer of mounting tape. The 3m 1/2 "best" is alot thinner so the added layers don't affect it. I used adhesion promoter wipes on each layer as well. I bought small head longer allen bolts for the rear flares to start and align so I could apply adhesion promoter to last layer of mounting tape against the body. The smaller head bolts dissappear better as 2 are visible as well as rounded wheel arch. I used rustoleum ultra matte black on everything and rear liner. Then the lip I ordered on Amazon a Musou black, it's the world's blackest acrylic black paint in the world. It's water based, but makes the inside rounded wheel arch dissappear completely like it's a shadow as it claims to absorb 99.4% light.
