As an old guy (LOL) I learned long ago that a mediocre tool is better than no tool when you need one most. I have a garage full of the finest tools, but this is tool kit I keep in my new Braptor. I have identical kits in my other daily drivers (TRX and Maverick).

Under the rear floor of my Braptor is a new, oversize DV8 storage/compressor box. While it's much larger than the factory box, I have no compressor, but I can store my modest recovery gear, gloves, shackles, ratchet straps, battery jump box, large lawn and leaf bags, etc.etc..

There's little I own from Harbor Freight, but I keep a fresh moving blanket and a small, heavy tarp in the trucks. For tools, here's the HF 130 piece kit mounted to my DV8Offroad rear Molle panel. It's a nice assortment for daily use, priced at $40, I recall I purchased mine on sale for $30. It fits perfectly in the fold-down shelf on my rear molle panel. Below the tool kit is a small, fresh, heavy tarp. While I don't really do any off-roading, when I believe I'll be at additional risk on my 1000 mile fishing trips, I take additional tools...

I thought that kit was all imperial.
Do they now sell a metric version?
Or is it a combo?

That seems like a bad place to mount a toolkit.... Unless you never use your tailgate table. I use mine pretty much every time I am off-road and I sleep in the back too. Being 6 ft I can't spare the inches that this mounting location takes away from the trunk space.

An alternative is a a cheap unpadded canvas tool roll, filling it up with the useful parts of the HF kit (is it even metric? Does not say so anywhere on the product page) and storing it under the back seat instead. That is what I did and also populated it with Harbor Freight's finest. But I bought most things individually or in kits that provided a small number of metric only parts. Did not need 6 screwdrivers and a 20-piece Allen set.

Would have to be a combo, there's no such thing as an all-metric socket set.

Yes it’s a combo - I have one in each of my off-road vehicles and bought one for each of my kids when they moved into their own apartments. Very functional and an excellent choice for an unexpected repair but not the greatest quality for everyday wrenching. Can be purchased for $29.99 when on sale.

Well done @Johnkn

I don't have a tailgate table and have zero use for one. Mine is a molle panel with small fold-down shelf from DV8-offroad. This kit fits perfectly on the small shelf, it's as if they were almost designed to work together. LOL ...

Storing items under the rear seat doesn't work for me when the seats are folded down...

The kit is a std/metric mix.

thanks

I have the same HF toolkit that I keep in my Bronco. That is a great idea and I plan on stealing with pride! 🤓

That tool kit is not bad for emergencies, my son has the same tool kit in his old car, but i HIGHLY recommend replacing the rachet with a higher quality one, such as craftsman, the one that comes in that tool box is very very cheap, my son was doing a plug change (first time using this kit), no problem with removing the plugs, but the damn wrench wouldn't flip to drive the spark plugs back in. So he was screwed, he called me and I came to the rescue with a craftsman 3/8" rachet, needless to say, i told him to keep it so we wouldn't ever have that happen again, on the bright side, I got to go buy me a beautiful 180 tooth craftsman rachet, and since I was already upgrading my 3/8, I decided to buy the matching 1/2 and 1/4 rachets! 🍻

I doubt all this can fit in any single tool rolll.

Here is what I use
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07F232C3X

It has almost the exact copy of the wrenches, drivers, torx plus bits, 3/8" socket drive set, allen keys, crescent wrenches, hammer, pliers and misc supplies listed in the post you referenced. Fits nicely under the rear seat. I have to pull it out when the seat back goes down but that takes just a few seconds.

https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/decent-wrap-for-emergency-toolkit.88387/

You can't see everything listed in the pics, but it all fits
