I've been following the forum for a while and finally decided to make an account to post on this thread. :)
I saw a Cactus Gray Bronco Sport on the road a month or so ago, completely undisguised. I got a very clear look at it for several seconds. The color is definitely not blue at all. It's light gray mixed with green.

Sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

And so persists the eternal debate of CG or A51.

If I was getting a Bronco (I wish I was...) this would be my debate too, along with Rapid Red.

I seriously considered A51. But dark colors and desert pinstriping don’t play well and my White Jeep is full of desert pinstripes but you can’t see any of them. Here is a good case of it on red. CG for me.

I was going back and forth with these two for a while. But I think I was being fooled by pictures demonstrating a blue tint to the Cactus, specifically with the white top bronco.
Now that we have more pictures and video it seems apparent to me that CG is just a light gray without blue in it.

Because of this I have switched to A51. I really would like a light blue, if I could choose any color. But I think A51 is an ok compromise for me.

I refuse to call this color Cactus Gray for the Bronco, it is now fighter jet gray. I want to feel like a pilot with the doors and top off flying down the trail. I know it will feel more like Bi-plane gray but I do not care.

The navy pier interior is just not my taste.

Seems odd they would pick that for the First Edition. So specific. I'm sure some people love it. But I bet most don't.

If I had a FE reserved I would be switching come order time. I couldn't live with that if its the only option.
What's really bad is that this is not a FE Sport, so someone did it on purpose.

I've started calling it chameleon gray with the wife, and she agrees.

For the interior, is there some blue plastic as well? I reserved an FE and if there’s no blue plastic then I’m getting the seats redone in a saddle brown but if there’s blue plastic... forget about it! This hasn’t helped me decide between Area 51 or Cactus Gray... ?

Ultimately I think this is what we'll end up doing, as well. We (the female and I) really like the "concept" that's actually CG with the white top and door handles, but it looks to our eye like a baby blue. We like the blue hue to it. So sounding like A51 is going to be the way to go.

Took these pics this morning at the Ford store in St George, UT. Ford rep came by to do short training session with sales staff. I know in some pics it looks light bluish but it does not look that way standing next to it.

I don't care what others say about the design, I think Ford did an excellent job with Bronco Sport! Both Broncos target different audiences and they nailed it. Hats off. I'd say the Bronco Sports main competitor will be the Subaru Forester besides the Jeep Compass.

I was always on the fence about CG. I liked it, but I could never put my finger on why. And it’s been staring at me. Every. Day.

Its a shame there seems to be a global shortage of metallic flake right now. Really bad timing with the release of the Bronco. Toyota seems to be really suffering from it.
