Ford Bronco Need a little help please… 28500CCE-860F-4BAA-83B1-80F5FCC67908

That’s a factory push pin from the wheel well that goes through the liner…. I removed one too many in order to install my front mud flaps and would like to get it back in…. Is there a trick to doing so? I’m missing something here…:ROFLMAO:

you have to remove that screw that is in the middle, then it will go in.

well, then the screw goes back into it, after you push that outer sleeve in the hole. ;-) You probably already did that and Im just stating the obvious, just trying to be a helper :)

No, he's right. Back the screw out, push the clip in, then tighten the screw back in so the clip expands.

Ok. I apologize. I’ve been humbled. I’m literally the dumbest person on this forum today. I had no idea this pin worked that way. I thought the Phillips pattern was just for design.

I bought a pack of different size pins and such from Amazon and have found them helpful to have around. Also found a plastic trim toolkit to be very helpful too!

Right on, I wish I would've bought the 300(?) piece kit 20 years ago for $15, instead of 40 2 piece bags for $4 a pop.

I've done worse.

My three most embarrassing vehicle moments:
  1. First time fixing a vehicle on my own. Father was a Ford engineer, so he taught me a lot... and I perhaps might of been a little over confident. Most of the vehicles I had worked on were body-on-frame. Pretty obvious where to put the jack stands on a body-on-frame vehicle. Not so obvious on my buddy's unibody car. Long story short I sent a jack stand right through the floorboard.
  2. Grew up learning to drive on a manual transmission. Didn't drive an automatic until my mid-20s during my first business trip in a rental car. No one told me that an automatic transmission vehicle moved forward by themselves once you put it in Drive. And...... well..... instantly drove into a support pillar in the rental garage. (Shocked I didn't get fired from that job.)
  3. This one was like.... 8 months ago. Flushing coolant in my Ford Focus. May have accidentally put windshield wiper fluid back into my radiator instead of antifreeze. So I got to flush it two times. :geek:

Eh, we’ve all had those moments. Dumbest thing I’ve done (thus far) occurred while helping a buddy swap out wheels on his 68 Dodge Dart back in the ‘70s. He was pulling the old ones off and I was putting the new ones on, and wasn’t until snapping off four of the first five lugs did I realize it had left hand threads. Damn Mopars 😲
