Check these out. they are not cheap, but might be what you're looking for.
Rock Slide I am sure they will have them for the Bronco before we get ours.
Ouch at 2k but they do look good.

Wow those are amazing!
Haven’t seen anything like that before.
Rock sliders and a retractable step in one.
Love it!

They are up there in price, and if you read about them they are only rated to take a medium hit (I think that is what I remember). But since my wife is only 4' 9" I will have to put these on my Bronco when I get it.

I suggest badlands, 2.7 and 33’s. I have similar driving tastes as your dad, and I’m (65)probably close to his age, and I’m getting Bl, 2.7,33’s. the Sasquatch will be a little much for the type of driving that your dad does.

I think you were spot on with the BL, as are the others confirming your opinion. As far as the 7 speed vs 10, that is where you are going to know your father best. You may even want to feel him out as to whether he has a preference. His choice of transmission is going to answer your 2.3 vs 2.7 part of the equation. I can tell you that some of us do have strong attachment to our choices in transmission, and that limits our preference in engine. I do believe either engine will be fine, but I would have liked the larger displacement had it been available with the manual. For me, manual>2.7 Good luck, and I don't think you can go wrong in whatever you decide. It coming from you is going to overshadow any other aspect. ?

7 spd is a manual; 10 spd is auto. after reading your criteria, i would get a badlands with squatch(?)which is it @BroncBro??) either 7spd(you can only get 7spd with the 2.3 for a reason only know to ford) or a 10spd if he is getting older/doesn't want to drive a manual

I realized later that the 2.3l is manual only. So it'll be 2.7 :)

We both live in the Tampa area.

Him in riverview.

Me in Ybor City.

I'm getting him the orange and I'm getting the carbonized gray.

Where are you?

I'm on the East coast in St. Augustine. Enjoy both of your Broncos. And to settle the engine/tranny debate, you want the 2.7 10sp. It is the only one that features the Trail Turn Assist. Your dad executing a few trail turns on the beach will have the ladies dropping their bikini bottoms.

Hello everyone,

Just found this site after playing around with the build site. This will be a surprise for my father. While I have been talking to him about the Bronco and know his lifestyle I am hoping you guys can help me make a couple of decisions.

How will dad be using it? He will mostly daily drive it. Here and there he will take my mom to the beach where you can park your car on the actual beach. He will probably take it on some trails but I am guessing maybe 5 times a year if that.

Right now I am looking at badlands and wildtrak. My dad loves gadgets so the lux is a must. I see you cannot get it on all models.

Here are my questions since I am not a truck/SUV guy.

Engine. If I get the badlands version, based on how he will be using it, is there really a big difference between the 2.3 and 2.7?

Transmission. Same as engine, will he not enjoy it if its the 7 speed vs 10?

He likes the idea of waterproof interior. Am I seeing it right the the BL is the only one where there is no carpet and you can drain water and still have lux package?
Are cloth options also waterproof or only if I get the marine grade seats?

Side question.... I see on BL you cannot have the tube step. I assume its bc it comes with the upgraded bashplates... ??? Will I be able to have someone else add them aftermarket or no? He is older and wants the sasquatch package so I'd like for him to have a tube step.

Thanks!!
Going off just the title . Kate Upton.
