I wish Ford had made the back window roll down into the tailgate like my 78 does. I hooked up my drift boat the other day and the rear door opens about half way before hitting the trailer, but not for enough to open the back window. So you cant access anything from the back. Just a thought! Thanks for letting me rant!

I did notice how far you have to open the tailgate to get the window up. Far farther than I thought it would take.

I used to love rolling the window down on my 90's broncos... but I also remember troubleshooting them and replacing the motors a few times.
Yea they were always an issue. LOL

The only drawback would be no rear wiper.
That would be a plus to me. I loathe rear wipers and the only reason it's still on my Bronco is it's pretty well hidden behind the spare. Got rid of the stupid thing all together on my last hatchback.

I'm glad we don't have a roll down window though. That would be a massive headache. It only works in the 4 Runner because the whole door lifts up so you don't have to roll it down before you open the tailgate every. single. freakin. time.

They could always do the same weird design as the side windows? Just a thought.

Absolutely, that'd be awesome, that option alone was a reason for me to look at the ancient 4Runner.

Why not? Toyota 4Runners have a window that goes down and they have a wiper. I always enjoyed rolling down the window on the back and opening the Sun roof.

Ha, my 78 was nice rolling up. Then came electric rolled up windows. I remember a few times having the window go off track and slam down and shatter inside the rear door. Or while retracking and forget to roll all the way down before closing the rear door and shatter. Then you have the rear window seals rot out and you have window rattling constantly. Those were the days!!!

If Ford added this, there would probably be further delays/constraints on Broncos!

Not me, but a LOT of people out there would have no idea what you're talking about (with their 4-door softies they compromised to get ASAP). Consider yourself lucky (as I do) to having been treated to that unique difficulty. LOL

I am glad you pointed this out. I have yet to tow my boat. I guess for short trips, opening the rear window and closing the tailgate might work. Otherwise, maybe having a extension added to the tongue of your trailer, but that might be unweildy.

I'm going to try and find or build a longer stinger so it clears. Luckily its a drift boat so its not heavy and hardly any tounge weight.
