I installed mine at the beginning of the month. Totally stock 7mt other than I pulled off the muffler and stuck a 45 angle pipe on pointing down. After about 500 miles I have no codes. Sounds significantly louder now and has some resonance at around 2500 rpm. The popping and backfires are loud and much more frequent. I am thinking of putting a muffler on and some exhaust wrap to try and quell the noise a bit. Performance bump? My heart says yes but my brain says I'm just pushing the pedal further to make more noise. As far as the install went, I followed the youtube video. Two of my turbo bolts were a bear and a half to loosen, I thought one snapped off when it finally loosened. The third was hardly tight.... The exhaust pipe was very tight too and I had to beat it off like in the video. Everything fit back together very easily.

the factory downpipe has an aluminum heat shield. do you recommend shielding the heat? Something like an exhaust wrap?

It’s definitely not a bad idea. There is a little more noise that comes from the high flow pipe so the heat shield would help with heat and the noise possibly.

Forget if I asked, hows a CVF turboback sound on the highway? I'll eventually replace my stock system, just looking for a catback that doesn't induce drone w/this DP like my Audi incurred

Mine has the Borla touring Axleback and doesn’t have any drone. Unfortunately I can’t speak for the full CVF turbo back setup but their products are good quality.

When removing the bottom Nut off of the turbo stud (did you access that from the top or from underneath?)
