Talked with Lethal Performance today, and it seems that the new Ranger Raptor Brembo brake upgrades will be available soon....as well as for the 2021 Bronco.

This is excellent news for some of us with more power and bigger tires.
Better brakes is welcomed by me.
They say off road only.(for liability and CARB reasons)..so those of you that worry need not complain here but contact your representative instead.

I think you're mixing up the federal clean air act (CAA) and CARB emissions laws -- to my knowledge, CARB would only apply if you're modifying something on the vehicle that could have an effect on emissions. Typically there's no concern with mods that aren't done to the powertrain itself.

CARB isn't federal law -- the CAA is, so you should be contacting your reps too it seems šŸ˜…

Actually these days the brakes are connected to enough of the power train computers that it could be hard to differentiate if these affected emissions. With the brakes connected to traction controll, collision avoidance, adaptive speed controll, and a few other things, it's likely connected to emissions somehow....thats part of what's wrong with the laws.

Likely will require 18"-20" wheels to clear the calipers.
Very UNLIKELY actually. Heres pics. There's plenty of room to go an inch or two bigger...just like tires.

It will depend on the rotor diameter. The 355mm rotors require an 18" min wheel diameter and that depends on the "spoke" configuration. The factory wheels may require spacers to clear the calipers.

Don't forget the rear oem calipers have an electronic parking brake. In the Raptor world, Brembo does not make a rear caliper for 2019-2020 Raptors because 2019-2020 Raptors have a rear electronic parking brake.

Only 1 aftermarket brake company made a rear caliper for the 2019-2020 Raptor and that is R1 Concepts >> https://www.r1concepts.com/bbk

There's no RDE (Real Drive Emissions) in the US (for now).

So the emissions tests are only run on chassis rolls. Yes, you use the brakes to drive profile on the chassis rolls - but the vehicle would be in DFSO (Decel Fuel Shut Off) and running plenty of Vacuum.

I think this is manufacturer just covering themselves.

Doubtful I'll need $5000 worth of brakes to slow me down coming off the Mary St ramp onto the beach:)

Yeah, not sure if drill or slotted rotors are the right thing for off road. Would seem more likely to get mud and gravel in them and score the rotors / pads.

I did put slotted on my JK, and no one will resurface the front rotors, so if you go that route, itā€™s new rotors every time.

I would like to see a bigger brake kit upgrade though.
