Are these adjustable height like the 5100s?
Do they take less time to install than the 5100s?

*I was going to install the 5100s with the max lift (2"+/-) which are around $600 + $900-$1,200 to install with alignment. Using the stock springs.

If these take less time to install and give the same lift - May be its worth spending more on these ?

THey will take less time due to the previous assembly being able to be removed as one unit and the coils not removed and reused. Should not be too significant of a cost adjustment. Main benefit of these is the warranty component.

I wish the Ford Performance 2" coilovers were adjustable for height, like the 4wp coilovers. I only want an inch of lift with 33's, would use the 2" if I got 35"s.

MIKE @Middleton: Thanks for reviewing these shocks. You lost me with the switcheroo of the wheels. You started with stock OBX 32" tires. You finished with Sasquatch 35" tires (nice white wheels!). Using your start and finish measurements, and subtracting the approx. 1.5 inches that the SAS tires add in actual height, I calculate that your actual height gain was 1.5 inches in the front, and 1.75 inches in the rear. Meaning the 2" shocks add 1.5 to 1.75 inches in height? Do you have any extra weight yet in the back of the vehicle, that would lower it?

Secondly, the ride: you conclude that the ride is similar to a Sasquatch vehicle. However, I'm interested in the comparison to the OEM Outer Banks you started with (and I have). Highway? Off road? Does it improve highway ride, or make it rougher? Same?

I'll take a shot at your questions since I also installed them about one month ago on my 2022 OBX Non-Sas build, but keep in mind I changed out the stock tires to Falken Wildpeak A/T3W 275/70/18's when I first took possession of it, so my experience may be different than the OPs.

1. The ride is firmer, but in a good way. Less "bucking" and the vehicle feels planted. It's not remotely harsh. I think it improved the ride tremendously.

2. One issue I noticed with my Bronco was when braking. If I got on the brakes hard, the vehicle dove (big time). The Bilstiens have lessened that by a ton.

3. I haven't had a chance to try it offroad yet due to winter here in Colorado, so I can't comment to that yet.

Hope this helps.

Only reason it would take less time is having the springs pre-installed. It should take you less than 10 minutes per coilover to remove and reuse the stock springs for 5100s or 6100s, less if you have done it before.

Is it me or do these just look like Ford branded 6112's?

Sure look like 6112's to me as well and you can save money if they are since they are only $1500.

Black Diamond owner here.

I love the idea of aftermarket suspension. I've upgraded the suspension in various vehicles and, more importantly, motorcycles, in the past. Huge bang for the buck.

But I think I'm one of the rare people who does not want a lift. I like the looks of my Bronco as-is. I also want it to fit in my garage, parking structures, covered bridges, etc.

So my question is: What are some suspension upgrade options that do NOT lift my stock Black Diamond?

Shouldn’t you measure lift from the center of the hub?

These are a nice option for when I upgrade tires/wheels once my Toyos are spent. $2k with a nice warranty seems like a great deal.

I’d like to see how these work out with Black Diamond gearing + 37” tires…
