My son wrecked his 2005 Dakota in a collision with a deer Tuesday. He decided to lease a new Ranger FX4 crew cab, because of the current incentives. All in they gave him $3250 in rebates

. On Z plan it was really a smoking deal. My dilemma? Makes my Bronco feel really expensive ?? I also drove the truck and was very impressed. This one had 488 miles , the first one we drove had 20 miles. The performance difference was noticeable.

$32.5kw/ Z Plan, sticker $38.3k roughly. Not bad for FX4 (better shocks, advanced transfer case, rear locker and skid plates) 2.3 10sp auto.

The transmission has probably "learned" a bit about the driver(s).

The motor and transmission both shifted and get more responsive in the model with 488 miles. I assume both are “breaking in” and the transmission is “learning “ compared to the 20 mile versions. We actually drove 3. 1 sport, 1 302XLT and the FX4 XLT.

Comparable would be a base Ranger vs Base Bronco. The one here looks like a XLT with a few different packages.

This was the equivalent of Big Bend, Mid package with locker. You can get the FX4 in all trims, but the incentives were on the XLT 301.
