I'm so happy I ordered a 2.3.
Simple, not lacking power.
The bi-turbo V6 just seems over priced and complicated for little gain
close to 100 more tq is more than a little gain.

25% more Torque isn't little gain... just sayin...

That said, years ago I owned a Thunderbird TurboCoupe with the 2.3L and it was a lot of fun. They have done a great job over the years improving the 2.3L engine!

Pretty sure a decent Tune will lower that % difference.
If it matters, maybe some people need to tow a boat - but even at Max payload - not sure the additional torque will be that valuable.
* I'm the wrong person for this, I truly don't understand the need for higher numbers than the 2.3 offers - in a BRONCO.

a few data points...

my long gone 1994 bronco (302 V8) 205 HP and 275 TQ
my recently donated 2004 expedition (5.4 V8) 260 HP and 350 TQ

next bronco (2.7) has 27% and 19% more HP and TQ respectively than the expedition, and a whopping 61% and 51% more than the old bronco. those never felt slow nor underpowered

nostalgic pining for our "beloved V8s" should have ended by now

and tuning?? please. this is a ton of power. any more and you'll just roll it over
No one wants a V8 for the power...or maybe some people do, but not me.

I personally wouldn't tune either engine but if you're going to compare against a modified 2.3L why would you not assume you would tune the 2.7L? Even with a tune I'm not sure you'll make up the diff in torque. I'm hoping to hit some trails so I opted for the 2.7L I want torque at lower RPM's. It's not about hauling/towing/or payload, it's about climbing and crawling over obstacles. If all you're doing is HWY driving and putzing around town then the 2.3L will suit you well. That said, I drive every car I've ever owned like it's a race car :) yes, including my wife's Pacifica minivan.

The 2.7 base non squatch 2 door with some decent tires might be one of the best sleepers of all time.
Yup. That’s what I’m after

Did ford already put out a cold air intake and tune option through them?
Not officially, but the 2.3 in the Ranger has one, so the Bronco will I am sure. Not sure about the CAI as no mention, but aftermarket is your friend for one or both.

Awesome, expecting them to dump some more specs here soon.
Yea we really need them to dump those micro chips off to the plant so ford can get these Broncos in some driveways or better yet on the trails….

Wonder how much the 10R60 will be able to handle
Well based on the name, it's rated for 442 lb-ft. 10R60 = ten speed, rear wheel drive 600 N.m rating.
