New issue: front gear differential seal leak

I found out today I have a front diff leak as well. Local shop initially thought I had a coolant leak, took it to Ford for pressure test and no coolant leak. They did find a small transfer case leak. Took it in today to get that fixed and I actually have a small front diff leak. 2021 badlands 2.7 with a little over 10K miles on it.

Same thing here, they got me fixed up in a day or 2 so you should be ok. Idk why some people are waiting weeks for the part. Makes me wonder how honest these dealers are being.

Yikes. Ya when they said all they did was replace the seal I was a little nervous.

I’ll post the entire list of what they replaced tomorrow. The first dealer that did it just did crap work and didn’t replace everything they should’ve. The second dealer replaced more parts and the repair has been good since then.

It’s been about a month and a half since my seal was replaced and so far, so good. I am friends with the dealership service manager and he put his best mechanic on it for me. He said it is one of those repairs that if the person doesn’t really have the experience, it will not turn out right.

3000 miles. Mine is leaking on the rear diff passenger side.
Just tiny bit leaking down from the brake dust cover to the inter rim.
Not enough to pay dealer a special visit yet. Though I will mention it on the next oil change.

As far as I know, it was just a metal ring/seal. I think the tricky part is taking it apart and putting it back together properly.

Just did my 10k oil change and inspection — found my front diff seeping on the transfer case driveshaft side. Is this the same issue you all have been reporting?

This was the second time I had it done. No problems since and I've wheeled it hard leaving it in 4x4 for a good 4 hours at a time.

Hopefully yours is still holding well! Just dropped mine off at the service department to inspect my front diff. Hoping they don't give me too much grief on parts coming in.
