Yeah... it's a price point thing.

Won't lie.... I am a gigantic LEGO fan. Probably the only hobby I've spent more money on than my Bronco obsession. I was hoping for a $350 super-detailed kit like the (now retired) Defender kit.

BUT... ya know... most people aren't man-children like me who are willing to drop $350 for a LEGO kit. For $65 the kit they come up with is solid.
Be patient, knowing them they could release a larger set at some point in the future since clearly they are focused on making Ford vehicles.

I feel like Ford didn't pay Lego enough to get a proper version made.
Lego asked Chat GPT what a 2D Bronco looks like. Ford is just happy for the licensing checks. I wonder how many of these will get recalled.

At $64.99, 11" long and 943 pieces it's not a bad deal. Any bigger with more pieces and it would have priced out more than what I'd want to pay. There's definitely a market though, the Ferrari SP3 currently on their site is $450 with over 3k pieces, I guess if I had Ferrari tastes then price isn't really in the conversation but for a Bronco I think it's priced right.
Not saying it's a bad deal at all; it's quite reasonable and I may still grab it at some point. I find their larger scale builds that come in around 3000 pieces to be really neat though. Yes, they are freaking expensive, but they can literally take days to weeks to put together and are wonderful display pieces.

I've been meaning to pick up the Mercedes G kit that can be mounted in a similar fashion. Gotta finish a couple other builds first :).

I like that on the poster / sign. I mount mine sideways on sloped ClosetMaid shoe racks on shelf tracks, so they're all at an angle like you're looking down from track-side seating.

I wish I had gotten the Porsche, but had other draws at the time.

iLuane (iluane.com) makes pretty reasonable display boards for quite a few of the Technic kits (including the Ford GT). That's what I have the Porsche on. They actually have a metal mount that attaches around pieces on the bottom of the kit and then you wall mount the board with anchors.

Was a bit skeptical but wanted to try one and was quite impressed with how well they work.

Thanks for the heads up, I also ordered one.
Hard to resist since it is red and has the proper number of doors.

I was convinced this was just a homemade item until I saw this link. I don’t understand why it looks so weird. Why does the door have so many holes?
Typical Technic lego style. They use a lot of pieces that attach via two sided connector pieces to hold them together. The holes are these pieces exposed.

I just can't get on with Technics. That series has always looked too much like Transformer toys to me. They make some Technics motorcycles (Ducati, BMW, etc.) that are just abominable. On the other hand, my daughter built the standard LEGO Vespa scooter and it looks fantastic.

I built the Senna McLaren last year and it's amazing. The Mansell Williams is on my wish list...

I saw the LEGO Land Rover at the Disneyland store a couple of years ago, and I thought that if they make a Bronco this cool, I'll be first in line to buy one!

And then we get... this. 😡

I'll stick with my chinese knock-offs for less than half the price (the Alfa is even licensed by the team), I've done one "official" lego kit, the 911 RSR and it wasn't worth the price premium:
