Slightly on topic. What are the downfalls of buying a new ‘23 with deep discounts?
  • It's depreciating pretty hard, so steeply discounted is the only way to consider a 23.
  • Some folks will say "lot rot" is an issue. (rodent damage, dead or weakened battery, etc etc)
  • Maybe options were better for 24 vs 23? Maybe not???
If it's been sitting a while, have them inspect for rodent damage before you take delivery.

Have them load test or replace the battery, especially if there is any history of it having been drained while it sat on the lot.

But , I'd buy one, no worries ... but it'd have to be discounted enough to cover the depreciation, which these days is tied much more to mileage than age.

You might be able to negotiate a Ford extended warranty "since it sat so long. Lord knows what kind of issues it will develop because of that" ... wink wink nod nod.

There's a lot of assumptions built into that question, that I don't believe are necessarily true, too many variables.

A lot has happened with the production and selling of Broncos in a very short amount of time.

Covid, supply issues, quality issues, changes in options from Ford...

Also consider how they are actually optioned, and modified.
As a rule of thumb, car mods usually don't translate to more money for the individual that bought them, not necessarily true for a dealer.

Also factor in, some mods are what would have jumped the Bronco, into a different trim level, and a dealer will charge for that on a used vehicle.

The average person on this forum has probably dumped a few thousand into mods without batting an eye and that's just get started.

Bottom line, unless you really know what you're looking at, and know the value/cost of what is now bolted onto the Bronco, cross shopping Broncos isn't as clear cut as you may think.

My 2021 OBX 2 door 2.7 msrp was 45,700. Bought it used 41k miles for 38200 out the door. I felt like it was a good deal considering others with about same or 30k miles were 46-48k. But they may have been 4 door or had sas package.
