What is the difference between the white lights and yellow lights that go in the aftermarket bumpers/ Is it beneficial to have a mix of both or one or the other?

Selective yellow fog lights are said to be better in snow and fog, reflecting less light off the precipitation back to the driver. High-quality white lights will render colors better. YMMV.
The major choice is generally an aesthetic one.

Truck won't see much fog and no snow. Texas hill country drives, Big Bend National park. Main issue is that the front bumper I want has a spot for 3 lights and wanted to see if I should do all white, all yellow or a combo or if it is mostly aesthetic?

it seems too many people buy lights from an aesthetic stand point. Why else do people take pictures of their trucks with the lights on instead of what they can see with their lights?

I think lights should be functional first, then aesthetic. But then I'm not a mall crawler.

I'm changing my fog lights to yellow. All other forward lights are white. I'd recommend the OP buy white lights and pay attention to beam patterns.

yellow for fog/snow and sometimes heavy rain, basically reduces the reflection off the moister in the air. White for better illumination when you don't have to worry about the reflection. Are you talking about the openings in the steel ford performance bumper? If so, I have the ones from IAG that do both yellow or white and wired into the auxiliary switch for each setting. The white does a heck of a job to light up the road in front of me to spot those glowing deer eyes. Yellow works great in the fog in my area too. Neither however are suitable for traffic as I end up blinding the crap out of anyone in front of me, so I don't use them for normal driving.

White is for normal/clear conditions. Amber/Yellow is for dusty conditions. However keep in mind that you want that amber/yellow light down LOW. So a roof bar on the roof of your truck going through snow is not going to help no matter the color. Same with pillar lights. Amber pillar lights will be better then white in bad weather BUT both are still going to cause you blindness.

DOWN LOW, in the fog area is ideal for yellow/amber during bad weather. White is ideal for clear conditions.
