Hello,

I've recently joined the forum but have been very excited about the new Broncos. I'm obssessed with the older ones and have hunted an old one to restore but the cost alone is not worth it to me... especially with the new ones starting to be released. I am wanting to place an order through the build and price but have absolutely 0 experience with this. This will be my first new car purchase through any dealership (all the other vehicles I have owned were high school beaters or through carmax which is "haggle-free"). I apologize if these questions have been answered before but I've researched as much as I can since release and don't feel like i'm hardly any closer to where I want to be.

To the point - I am in Western NC and have no idea what dealership to use so that I don't feel like I'm getting taken advantage of. I don't really have a budget but don't want to spend much over 50K especially as this will be my first offroad/overlanding vehicle.... I'm an extreme newbie (y) and plan to use it as a DD and to make memories with my kids. I've been leaning towards the standard Black Diamond as it has most of what I'm looking for. Build and price says it'll come close to 48K which I thought was fine... until today! I read recently some people have been able to get a 4dr, 2.7 auto, advanced 4x4, hard top, SAS, tow pack, etc. for the same price which I'm not understanding. What's the secret? I've heard Grainger and Stepehens Auto have a good reputation but Grainger is too far and I want to try to keep the purchase in state. I also don't want to spend 48K on a standard BD when others are getting it sasquatched for the same price.

For what it's worth, I had decided not to go sasqautch unless it was on the base. I don't believe I'll use the upgrade as much as I think and the extra cost of maintenance doesn't seem worth it (unless I can get it for 48K :ROFLMAO:)!

What options are you adding to get to 48k without squatch? Seems a little high for a Black Diamond

I don't know how you got $48000 either with the Black Diamond. Grainger might not be the best option since Ford is using a dealer allocation system. Pick the biggest - maybe in Charlotte? There are forums on what not to add in the factory to improve your chances of getting a timely build - usual ones to avoid are Hard top, trailer hitch, and paint protection. Ford provides a hard top kit with the soft top that you can add the hard top later. The dealer can add the hitch.

I’m about an hour from Charlotte, Rockhill, Asheville so I’ll look into some of the dealerships there.

For my 48k bd build it has 4dr, 2.7 auto, advanced 4x4, hard top, hd mod bumper, roof racks, trailer hitch, and mid package. I’m not worried about waiting but want to make sure I get what I want. I don’t want to feel like I’m settling.

i would love mid package especially in winters here for remote start and seat warmers but honestly I’ve been looking at base Sasquatch for 45k and getting katz leather and heated seats.

Does demographics matter as far as the pricing goes?

Laughs in northeast winter.

In all seriousness would have grabbed the mid if they offered it on a manual BD. Didn't jump up to BL because it would've exceeded my budget and frankly I will not use the sta bar disco. Now, 5 years down the road I may trade up.

Ha, I’m originally from FL so these NC winters are still brutal to me! I’ve considered trading up in a couple years but want to keep it as long as I can.

I just don’t see how some are getting the pricing they are - with sas and the 2.7 auto for the same as my non sas BD build

Is that for 2dr or 4dr? just priced it out a 4 dr and it’s $44,900. I attached the build and price - maybe someone can point out some things that is driving my cost up 5k more than others.

Location plays a big factor in pricing as well. My black diamond build up here in the PNW was more expensive than that of my friend in Missouri. Exact same builds but mine was 3k more.

That probably explains it. I was just a little worried because I felt okay with 48k BD until someone said they got theirs SAS for the same price.

Thanks for all the input. I’m super excited but flip flop every day with what trim/build I want (base Sasquatch, BD, BL)

Here are a few past tips I've posted that may help you.

In addition, try to only deal with the dealerships "Bronco Specialist" or their "Internet Sales Manager". Start the process by EMAIL ONLY, to ask questions and get a paper trail. Second by phone and third, only after the first two, in person at the dealership. If their website does not list these people, call and ask, have a short talk if you can't get off the phone then proceed to email. Do not go on their turf until you know the lay of the land. Ask some questions you know the answers to, to gauge how honest the salesperson is.

Car buying 101, you never order a car unless and until you have negotiated a price and you have it in a written, signed by the general manager, contract.
Negoiatiation 101, never give a deposit until you have an agreed upon sales price and a sales contract to sign, you have robbed yourself of any ability to negotiate now. Of course dealers love customers who will pay whatever price they are told.

A vehicle purchase is not like the grocery store with one price, it is one of the most negoiatable purchases consumers make.
Fine, that's a starting point, do you have a signed purchase agreement, by the general manager, at MSRP, no ADM?

Next, do you have included in the agreement, no BS add-ons, no VIN etching, Nitrogen in the tires, $200+ floormats, pin-stripping, Lojack, alarm systems, etc?

(Of course, "how about" and "okay", are not strong negotiating words.)
Basic business steps should be taken to protect yourself with any large purchase, yes, when it is a personal purchase as well.

Dealers as a group have earned themselves the distinction of being less than honest, you must always protect yourself by having everything in writing, signed by the General Manager.

When you order a vehicle, after you spec it out, review the DORA order details printout of your Bronco.

Then negotiate the FINAL, OTD (Out of The Door) pricing, including ALL FEES and TTL (Tax, Title and License).

Next add a statement:
1) Any additional changes such as options or accessories will be negoiated separately.
2) The dealer will not add ANY dealer add-ons (VIN etching, alarm system, nitrogen in the tires, etc.).
3) There will be NO test drives except by you, the named buyer.

Once this is done and EVERYTHING is in writing, have it signed by the General Manager, NOT THE SALESPERSON.

While this is new or late informaton for many, please protect yourself.
The best deal is subjective to every person, it can and should include all of those things, general car buying guidelines are only guidelines. Generally speaking, you can negotiate below MSRP, well below, a limited, new release vehicle sometimes can cause you to deviate from this plan. Regardless, start your negotiations from the MSRP or Invoice, if a dealer has an ADM sticker on the car, IGNORE IT. We all know of a number of honest dealers here on this forum offering less than MSRP deals on the Bronco.

I've only paid MSRP on one vehicle, a hot new mom-mobile (Honda Odyssey) my wife wanted and needed. All others I've always negotiated from Invoice, not MSRP. My favorite car purchase, a Toyota Corolla, the sales person did their normal 4-square dance, then said he had to run my offer "by the manager"; 20 minutes of timed drama later, he came back with some pitiful counteroffer, I said thank you for your time and left.

Now this was in Southern California where there is a Toyota dealer every 10-20 miles. I drove down the road, they had the identical model, I had a great salesperson who understood we were simply looking for a fair deal, he gladly sold us the car. A couple of hours later, new car in the garage, the first dealer calls and said he would accept my offer, I said thank you, but sorry, I already have the same new car in my garage.

Here are some of my Ordering Guidelines:
When you order a vehicle, after you spec it out, review the order details printout (DORA) of your vehicle (Bronco). Then negotiate the FINAL, OTD (Out of The Door) pricing, including ALL Add-ons, Accessories, FEES and TTL (Tax, Title and License).

Next add a statement:
1) Any additional changes such as options or accessories will be negotiated separately.

Regardless of price, don't let the desire for a new shiny toy override your sound financial future, house fund, emergency fund, 401K, kids college fund, etc. You should ask yourself, do you want a couple of years of a cool ride or a stronger financial future? If you can afford it all, enjoy, if not, please make wise financial decisions.
