Newer MIC top has slightly darker look

The newer mic top looks great with the big flares. I say get whatever top matches your grill. The glossy wild track grill would look great with the painted modular but a badlands looks great with MIC.

If the unit on the left is the top on the Overland showcase model (which it appears to be based on the rooftop tent showing), then having seen it in person at the Filson event in Seattle, that thing was literally bolted and glued together which is probably why the seams seem so much tighter than the Rapid Red unit. It was also a suuuuuuuper pre-production unit with terrible coloring and jagged sharp edges.

A smoother texture means less surface area for light to reflect off of hence why it may appear darker. The plastic itself could be the exact same color it always has been.

I'll take it. Just hope these "improvements" help them to consistently build them quicker. I eventually want to drop coin on a white top, but until that day would be nice to have a top that doesn't feel like cheap plastic for a toy.

Good to see, I noticed the difference too on the ones at KOH are darker than the prior tops, even the Overland A51 top looks lighter than the new ones. Good on Ford.

and if it’s smoother, then even better.

I see a little bit of a difference but I am having a hard time seeing enough where I would have even noticed if they had not pointed it out.

Go back and look at the full vehicle pics...looks much darker. The BN rep said it was a “shade or 3 darker” and looked much better.

I just noticed but the edges are totally in a different place too So these are definitely newer/different. See arrows.
