Two things I don’t want to do:

1.
Ford Bronco NHTSA Investigation E9332E76-E722-4D86-98A2-638694099BBB

2.
Ford Bronco NHTSA Investigation 471DA053-8EC5-402F-8001-ED3433BD899E

However….Has anyone heard anymore about the NHTSA investigation of the 2.7 engines?

Nope because there wasn’t the dumpster fire that all the chicken littles on here were complaining about. Notice the engine failure thread stopped in the low 60 number.

Did the problem stop or did it just stop being reported?

Exactly. It was a small number made during a limited time period. I have a 2.7 and it is a great engine. Besides...there is no need for a Federal Investigation if the problem was corrected and customers were taken care of.

And because of those “chicken littles” that info was logged and reported so new buyers would know if it was or wasn’t a wide spread 2.7 issue. So take it for what it’s worth. That thread is the only reason we know it was a short term valve issue. Despite the “die hards” as I’ll put it nicely.
