is there a big difference between using the cigarette lighter or the 110v outlet in the back or the battery?

yes. you can pull more amps directly connected to the battery.
internal ac transformer is less efficient, too.

when i was reading up on them, people were saying the cigarette lighter models weren't capable of filling larger tires. I assume that means they'd overheat before you could get 30lbs in a bigger tire.

The viair 84p has that connection and they rate them for up to 31" tires. The 88p I bought is rated for 33" tires.

that's the one I said, but he said it was too expensive.
For reals. People think I'm made of money? I'm about to drop $45k on a car whose roof will fall apart. Can't just go pissing money out the window.

I need it to buy felt bumpers. Or clear tape. Or glue to keep my panels together.

Priorities people.

Look who you are talking to PowPow...

@Chrism81 has already purchased every accessory available for the Bronco and doesn't have his quite yet... now we know who's got the money around here ;)

BTW, I bought my mini inflator a few years ago for like 40 bucks I think. Don't remember from where, I'll check it out later though.

can anyone recommend a cheap, but decent portable air compressor? I just want something that I will use occasionally when off-roading on sand.
I've been thinking about getting one of these cheap ones from Harbor Freight. Now, full disclosure, I didn't buy these, but they were something I've been looking at as a temporary solution until I figure out what I want to do.

WARNING: This thing will probably be very hot! Also, take note of the flow rates. The first one is only $37.99, but it's a mere 0.25CFM. At least the other is 1.35 ($69.99, but that one draws up to 30A. In the Bronco User Manual, it states that the 12VDC Power Outlet is 20A. This is part of the dilemma! I just don't know how much it will draw. Even the ARB has max current draw of 22.7A, but it's pretty close to 20A and it shouldn't draw that much normally. Do they draw to peak? Probably not but who knows. Someone on here probably did the homework on these already. There are a couple posts for these.
