You should consider pixel 6 proHonestly, that's the dumbest move Samsung has ever made... Making the s pen work with the Galaxy and the fold. F that shit!
From what I've read, battery life on the fold and flip kinda sucks compared to the Note. I see the fold as being cool for like a week or two, but then blah.
I'll be pissed if Samsung kills the Note line, once I made the jump, I just can't go back!
But I will NEVER own an iPhone!

The battery life on my fold was poor first few days. Then it learned my usage behavior and improved. I further improved it by turning enhanced processing off, which the phone doesn't need as its fast already. I do turn it back on when I'm in the car and have it plugged in and I'm multitasking Spotify and waze (which works magnificent btw)Honestly, that's the dumbest move Samsung has ever made... I think its Mid pack on up if I'm not mistaken. So angry. Again.
I love my auto high beams.
Do all trims come with this feature? Or is this like a lux only thing.
Hey @Merc4x4 ... Can you share how your buying experience went? Did they push anything on you like Ford Protect, financing, etc? and if so, did you bite on any of that? Did you trade in anything and how was the offer, etc? just curious what to expect when i go in hopefully before the end of year LOL ....Got some more!
man, remember blackberry? those things used to go days before needing a charge. You really trust that chart up there?
Here is my chart at 41%
No way in hell do I get another 11 hours out of it.
Funny thing, a co-worker of mine recently got a Galaxy S21. He's not a power user, but does use his phone for a good number of phone calls and he's actually getting 2 days on a charge! I haven't seen 2 day batteries since maybe my old Galaxy S5
I'd love that too, but I also have to remind myself that those old phones with days of battery life were just that - phones. These things are running constantly connected (or trying to be connected) to networks and a host of devices (speakers, cars, home IoT stuff) and managing apps and data connections. It is the sick cruel joke that the very item we think gives us freedom is also the leash that tethers us to work (or the futile checking of our 'build notifications) 24x7...man, remember blackberry? those things used to go days before needing a charge.
nokia's were even better. i think they lasted like a week, lol.
I got a pixel 5a with 5G now and I can get 2 days out of it, if I really needed to.
#1 problem in a lot of industries... battery life. And unfortunately battery technology isn't much different then it was 20/30yrs ago, so no real progress is being made. Once someone finally figures out how to extend battery life and charge faster, billionaire.
I love "disconnecting". Which is crazy, bc I'm in the tech industry, and have a general love for technology. But I love living in the moments more. I can't stand going somewhere or doing something and everyone is recording it or taking pictures that they'll never look at ever again. Sure, occasional pic, but you don't need to record the whole damn game or concert you're at. Try enjoying it in person, vs through a screen. (god I sound so old)I'd love that too, but I also have to remind myself that those old phones with days of battery life were just that - phones. And for every battery advancement (just like processing power or communication speeds) as soon as you get more battery capacity, there are new apps and capabilities developed that eat it up and keep you at that magical "1 day" of battery life. Or, they just make the device thinner or smaller or pack in more other stuff because they have room now...
EDIT - I have a couple friends who use old flip phones - no internet. I used to think they were dinosaurs, but I'm starting to think they are the smart ones when I realize how dependent I am on this thing. Not sure I'd trade places, and in my life and profession I choose not to, but it does make me think.
Overall, excellent! But, I'm really an easy going person who was very motivated to replace my current car. I do not have room for 2 vehicles, I pay $430/mo for a space in a garage. My G ownership was souring do mostly to the Merc dealer not being able to properly fix issues and still charging me a premium. I probably spent $5k/year in maintenance while owning the G.Hey @Merc4x4 ... Can you share how your buying experience went? Merc. Let's hangOverall, excellent! But, I'm really an easy going person who was very motivated to replace my current car. I do not have room for 2 vehicles, I pay $430/mo for a space in a garage. I was willing to eat up to $10k to get this deal done, especially with the invoice deal I got. Time is money, as the say, and as an hourly wage consultant, I know exactly what my time is worth. I do not have the time, patience, or space to sell a car privately.
They offered below KBB trade-in, but my G is modified with oversized tires, spring spacers, scratches from the trails, etc. Their first offer was above my min, so I accepted it. I also save tax on the value of the trade-in; I was happy with the offer. I had title in hand with no liens.
I was always paying cash and I told them that from the very beginning. They didn't push financing on me. I took the Bronco to the bank and lunch with dealer tags while they were finalizing the DMV crap. I opted for new plates.
There was a bit of back and forth on proof of insurance for the Bronco. Name and address have to be identical. It took me a couple times modifying my insurance info so it would print on the ID card exactly as my license. Thankfully I could do it from their app and get an updated card within minutes.
They gave me two net prices, one included a 3rd party warranty. I think it was 84 months and they said if I don't use it, it's 100% refundable towards (i think I have this correct) another purchase from them. They said it can be used at any dealer. It was not Ford Protect, I asked and they said that was more money. I ended up getting what they offered. Don't recall how much it was. I was swayed by all the issues reported here, but those are covered under factory warranty. I'm a sucker for up-sales, apparently.
The only thing they didn't take care of was turning in my old plates. Now I need to figure that out soon so I can drop the G from my insurance. This is really important. You must turn your plates in before dropping insurance. I didn't do that once and NYS assumes I was driving without insurance for years and I was faced with a 10 year suspension of my license! I must have said the right thing to the DMV agent, because he eventually relented and dropped the suspension.
So, that's my story. Unfortunately you're probably asking the wrong guy.
I hope this isn't off-putting to readers. I come from middle class rural Jersey. Grandson to immigrants. I've worked hard, for long hours and continued my education on top of that to stay relevant in IT. I've made sure my knowledge and opinions are broad, relevant, and sought-after.
I feel fortunate and blessed that all my work has brought me to a situation where I am less concerned about spending money. I do my best to pay it forward and with the crunch dealers are in right now, the least I can do is not haggle on the value of my trade and purchase an expensive detail and an extended warranty I may never use.
In the end, I'm very happy. I hope Brewster is happy. The Bronco is awesome!
Awesome - glad it worked and was mostly smooth for you.. appreciate the response !Overall, excellent! But, I'm really an easy going person who was very motivated to replace my current car. that's something right there. smart though. As I have (I think?) 2 sets of NJ plates in my garage as we speak for the cars we owned when moving out to PA. Never gonna make the time to go out of my way to return those plates to a DMV in NJ.You must turn your plates in before dropping insurance. And yeah, NY is tough on their DMV stuff. When we moved to PA I went to get a PA license and found out that my license was apparently suspended in NY from some dumb shit I did during my college years, so PA wouldn't issue me a license. Which sucked, bc timing wise, my NJ license had just expired. And I wasn't an NJ resident anymore, so I pretty much drove around for a few weeks without a valid license. Anyway, long story short I had to write a letter and send it to them asking to reinstate my license. Which they did.
But man, all those years of driving through NY up to VT & at any moment if someone ran my plates, I guess I would've gotten in some kinda trouble?
