Or they look at sales numbers from say, F-150 and see how many V8s get sold vs Ecoboost engines...they even expanded the Ecoboost options in the F-150...
So cry all you want, Ford will build what sells. I love the Ecoboost, and would have a really hard time going back to a non-turbo vehicle...
If you NEED a V8, just have one swapped like Jeep peeps have been doing for years...

It's just so.....Ford.

Ford v. Ferrari captures the corporate mentality that fights itself. Ironic really that FCA has the 392 playing the "man card".

+++++

And Ford (slow learners that they are)is gonna build what Ford wants....instead of what the customers want.
Yea I have to say there is a lot of people that want to whine the V6 is “good enough” but honestly going down market from a V8 to a 2.7L (which I have lots of experience with) is a huge downgrade.
No V8 has to be the biggest miss of this entire reveal. If FCA actually has the balls to produce the 392 Wrangler they will be getting my money.

New member, Must be FCA marketing checking in, bringing up their V-8, on the very same day Ford reveals the Bronco Warthog, oh, must just be a coincidence

So Ford doesn’t want potentially 38% more sales? I guess if 100,000 or so Bronco units with added profit possibility isn’t appealing then maybe Ford isn’t in the business of making money.

Honestly I wouldn't own a 2021 Bronco with a V8 if one was offered. I own enough single digit MPG V8s. I'm excited to have a twin turbo V6s that gets over 10 MPG.

I would never choose a V8 because of the bad gas mileage. The 2 dr Bronco has a 16 gallon tank. I am going with the 2.7 v6 and hope the fuel economy is reasonable. Plenty of power with the 2.7 for me. For me the Bronco is not going to be some high powered performance vehicle but rather a decent powered very capable go almost anywhere off road vehicle.

This should help....

Ford says emissions regulations will keep a V8 out of the Bronco

And believe me I'd love a v8 (I do have a v8 mustang after all!), they have looked at it, and determined that not adding a v8 won't cause them to lose enough business to justify it. Now if the wrangler v8 does pan out and prove to be successful, bet your bottem Ford will release one on the 7G bronco .

Not sure where the “bad gas mileage” mess comes from, this is 2020. The 7.3L F250 is averaging 15 MPG. In what world would a smaller V8 in a truck weighing 3,000lbs less get worse economy?

I have drove a 5.3L WT for several years achieving mid-high 20s regularly on highway trips.

If there was a V8, I would choose it for sure. But, there’s not. I will live for now

I had a whole response typed up and than Mods moved the thread! Dag nabbit! lol

Anyways.

I have never owned a new vehicle. So I can't talk about the MPG in a newer V8. I own a 79 F150 with a 400 bored .60 over, RV cam, 4bbl Edelbroch intake, and 650 CFM Holley Carb. Other vehicle is a 78 Bronco with the stock 351M. Both are gas guzzlers, I am lucky to get 8 mpg. That's where my view of V8s as low MPG engines knowledge is from.
