Not clipping windows

Has anyone else just not clipped the clips on the side windows? My commute is 1.1 miles to work I often take the windows out in the afternoon since it’s still cold in the mornings and it’s spring so rain happens. I just had to throw them back on for a pop up shower (weather app got the time wrong imaging that?). I wasn’t fussing with the clips in the rain. Any real reason I can run like this. Highest speed limit is 40 for a little over 1/4 mile the rest 25 mph. I’m thinking besides the wave it’s in a track in three sides and Velcro’d they ain’t going anywhere right?

My personal feeling is it shouldn't be a problem. The way I look at it, the clips are there more as an aid to keep the whole thing lined up while you fasten the Velcro strip - which is really what's doing the work holding the window in...
