Tell me more about the wheels, please. Offset and backspace measurements? Any lifting or shimming of the suspension? Photos?
Waiting on the 17” wheels from KMC. Read stuff here (BTW love this Forum) and talked to wheel and tire shop guy who looked at my Bronco and agreed the wheel/tire combo will fit without any mods. When they get installed in a couple weeks I will post with pics. According to the tire size app, the overall diameter is only .5 inches more and a 1.2” wider than stock OBX tires.

This is a BD ( again, not an OBX ) but with the 1' level kit and still says the tires "kiss" the sway bar.

Just throwing it out there. 😁
Those 35x12.50 tires in your example are a nice show photo, but are too wide, and likely too tall for a 1" shim lift off of Base (Base, BB, BD, OBX). The chart above shows .67 in lift for 33in tires and 1.10 in lift for 35" tires. And with 35" tires, some recommend the coilovers as preferrable to lift blocks, and the 4wp lift kit also recommends bigger their UCA to provide more travel and clearance.

Yes, a possibility. My main problem right now is that in the 275/70R18 tires, which seem to be the ideal middle-road 33" size for a moderate OBX upgrade, are not available in C & D rated tires. The E rated tires are heavier, and harder-riding, making the car I bought for a smooth highway ride & occasional Beach use a more uncomfortable ride. Right now, the ideal would be to buy a set of 17" rims, perhaps finding a set of Badlands take-offs.
Curious why not just go to a Badlands? I'm in between these as well. I also want the 17" /33's, I prefer non painted mirrors and handles. I really don't like the interior options for Outer Banks either as I plan on Race Red and no available options looks good to me combined with the blue accents inside.

It sure looks like you Should go to the Badlands, given your tastes, the stock Badlands with 33's is an excellent package! its only a few grand more than a well equipped OBX. Personally, I like the OBX, without the SAS package, and I have one in the leather Onyx in area 51. I like the style and the accessories. I like the road confort and drivability. The Tan interior is great! This thread from last October is exploring the tire & suspension possibilities for the tire upgrade that I might do.

Hello All,

I am kinda new to off-roading and....I guess...need a lot of help. I am looking to purchase an Outer Banks 4 Door, but don't really like the look and size of the wheels and tires. I don't need the Sasquatch package, but I like the look of the Badlands tires and wheels. Does anyone know what I would need to do to the Bronco to achieve this?

I have many questions, but don't really know the terminology to ask. I'll try....

Does it have to be lifted?
Do wheels and tires void warranty?
Will they damage anything?
Do I need new speedometer gears?
What size wheels would I need? 17 x ? I don't understand offset...yet.
Is the Badlands suspension different than the OBX? Would I have to change that?

I'm sure there are more, but maybe you all could get me started.

Thank you.
I have an OBX Non-Sas. I went with Nitto Ridge Grapplers 285/70/r18 (33.98x11.5) on the stock 7.5x18 wheels. They fit perfect and rides extremely smooth on the highway. No rubbing and plenty of clearance, crash bars are still installed.

* No Lift or level
* Wheels and tires do not void warranty
* No Damage
* with my 33.98 diameter tires my Speedo is off by 3mph at 80mph. At 40mph it is off by 1.x mph. So it is not much. I did not recalculate the speedometer. If you go with 35s I would recalculate it.

I have the two door non-Sas OBX and put 33” tires (Falken but same 285/70-17 as the Badlands) and Sasquatch wheels on with no lift and no crash bar removal and have no issues off-roading or rubbing. Even with the Badlands wheel being a +55 offset and the Sasquatch a +30, I’ve not read anyone on here having to modify anything else to make that swap.

OBX with stock wheels, crash bars still, no lift, and 33' K02's. Fills everything nicely.

Does it have to be lifted?
No.

Do wheels and tires void warranty?
Not that I have ever seen.

Will they damage anything?
No more than a factory tire will.

Do I need new speedometer gears?
No - Forscan will correct it.

What size wheels would I need? 17 x ? I don't understand offset...yet.
17x9 +30 offset seems optimum for 285-295/70R17 tires.

Is the Badlands suspension different than the OBX? Would I have to change that?
yes, it's different, no you don't need to change anything.

I'm sure there are more, but maybe you all could get me started.
