Odd noise/clicking

Just drove back from Granger. 600 miles. Not sure this sound was present at pickup, but certainly was present 10 miles into the trip when I pulled over for food. Thought maybe it was a break-in/new engine thing. Still present. It doesn’t sound like I would expect. Confirming I should get this looked at.

Yeah, that doesn’t sound good. I would get that looked at right away. Sounds suspiciously like something with the valves. Any chance you have a 2.7? A number of people have reported having dropped valves with fairly low mileage on the 2.7.
Best of luck but my two cents are to get it to Ford pronto.

I would have turned around 10 miles into the trip and took it back to granger to look at

Get to the shop. Sounds metallic, which makes me think it's in the engine. Does it increase with RPM?

Im sitting in my Bronco with the 2.7 right now and it's whisper quiet.

The first quiet ticks are normal. That's your fuel injection.

The louder, angrier ticks that follow sound bad. Hopefully one of the mechanics here can tell you for sure, but sounds valve related to me.

On a side note anyone with a corvette order the plant in Kentucky got hit bye the tornado there was a roof fire that caused damage and the national corvette museum got hit hard too some of the corvettes that were stored in the lot were destroyed as well I hate seeing this I a,ways loved the corvettes

I’m waiting for the foot to drop that all 2.7 will need to be replaced or most of them that would suck so bad and basically kill the bronco

I just came back to say that as well after listening a few more times. It goes on quite a while after the engine stops.. What keeps momentum that long after the engine stops? Fans?
