First Post, thanks to everyone posting their content and helping fellow Bronco enthusiasts out. I attended the Texas Off-Roadeo event this weekend 7-11/7-12 and I’ve come away a believer. Prior to this weekend my offroad experience was limited to fourwheelers and dirtbikes so I didn’t know exactly what to expect. The cynical side of me thought it would be a very toned down experience with some highly manicured courses, a few splashes of mud, and a lot of pomp and cirumstance considering we were driving 40-60k new vehicles.

I was wrong!

Without giving too much away we were given 2 hours of in-doc experience with focus on techniqe and Bronco technology. After that we hit progressively more advanced trails, water crossings, boulders, and just about all terrain Texas hill country could throw at us. If you have the opportunity, GO!

Welcome to the site!

I was there Friday/Saturday and had a blast. Definitely learned a lot and think it's a great opportunity for those that are thinking of getting into off-roading.

I was there sat & Sunday. Got to drive a manual. Something for everybody. Had a little more time in car with the trail guide in lead car and got some amazing instructions on improved use of the manual ( dump the clutch , don’t feather it out , you will burn it , you have so much torque in 4L you just about can’t kill it ) . What really struck me was that Ford went WAYYY out of their way for a great program , the guys they hired as trail guides struck me as being not only affable but really way knowledgeable and still able to present it to folks who were not really sure why they ordered lockers.
It certainly made the 99 till 23 for a top more manageable as it really succeeded in demonstrating some good will from Ford and allowed me to use the vehicle which is a quantum leap from my FJ ( already a pretty good truck. ) Of note also was that we managed in wetish muddy conditions to go over things with a4 door with 33s that without a guide in the car or having watched someone else do it I would have never considered. Sway bar disconnect rocks. Didn’t really miss the trail turn with the manual but did have to 3 point it a couple of times. Big screen with a camera was missed, glad I did it without one cause I sure missed it and am glad I ordered it.
Perhaps if they start getting declining enrollment they can offer courses at higher levels for those who have gone once ( I for one would sure go back. )
For those thinking about it, GO . I have attended automotive Ed programs from Audi , BMW and GM and this experience was exceptional.

Here’s a few more. Velocity blue looks amazing in person. The 12in screen, lockers, and trail cameras were unbelievable.

Thanks all for the pics and reviews. I do have a question they say wear pants as you may get dirty or muddy or whatever. But I do see a lot of shorts. Did you find wearing shorts a problem? I would really rather wear shorts in the heat.

Given the heat (the AC works great BTW), the majority of our group wore shorts. This wasn't a problem just be mindful where you step once on the trail due to cacti etc. I would consider closed toe shoes a must due to the rocks and mud.

It was so crazy, We would do some crazy rock obstacle and stop to wait for others. All of us while waiting would just be in disbelief of what we had scaled. We mostly used Badlands and I don't think many of those had sasquatch. We had no issues doing any obstacles on 33's. I asked John one of the trainers if he had done those obstacles on stock badland wheels and the all terrain BFG's and he said he had and had no issues.
The whole experience was wonderful. I think I will use my voucher to go to the one in MOAB when it opens up.

Day 2 got to drive the Wildtrack. More difficult obstacles. Driving a track. Riding with the guides as they went much faster.😀

can’t wait.

Great write up. Comments are spot on to what I experienced.
