Charge at home/garage in the middle of the night when your asleep? I’ve had 3 EV’s in past 4 years ( 2 BMW , 1 Tesla) never been to a public charging station.
That won't cut it when I can travel outside of my vehicles range for work and pleasure multiple times a month.

I wonder what a 3.5L EcoBoost would get?

From my experience it would get 1-2 mpg less than the 2.7 at least that's how it works in the F150s

I agree, it would be a pretty minimal difference until you put a tune on it and put your foot into it. I had really hoped to see the 3.5EB motor in the Bronco, my 1st Gen 3.5 is a beast and I have 230k miles on it - with the 93 Octane Tune, my F150 is shockingly fast. I am hoping that the Bronco is going to be faster than my F150 (which weighs about 6,000 pounds with the Heavy Duty Payload Package and 8ft bed).

The 3.5 might get less MPG than the 2.7 but it will get to the next gas station faster.

Does anyone know why BD gets such different mileage than the OBX despite having the same suspension and slightly smaller tires? Is it purely due to the extra weight from steel bumpers and skids, or is something else going on?

I guessing we can expect some type of hybrid real soon.

The extra weight of the skid plates and the heavier wheels/tires would explain city. The drop in highway doesn't make much sense. Another possible impact is the availability of advanced four wheel drive as that loses the axle disconnect. Manual lockout hubs might be nice for the summer.

The outerbanks has tall but very skinny tires compared to the badlands and I'm pretty sure that accounts for the mpg differential. The 4 door outer banks with 2.7L weights 4,731 lbs, and the badlands with 2.7L weights 5,117 lbs. I don't think the 386 lbs difference plays into the mpg difference much.

Are the inverted city/hwy MPG rating of the auto/badlands an indicator of the engine working to hard at 70mph. Have never seen a lower hwy rating outside of a hybrid. It's also worse than the auto/Sasquatch build! What is going on here?

It’s about gearing and being shaped like a brick both front and rear.

I'm pretty sure auto start/stop is why it gets better gas mileage in the city.
