Using your logic...it really doesn't matter does it? Ford is still in business and selling Broncos, so if VW steps on their dick with the Scout, will it really hurt it?

Looks like a cross between a Range Rover and a Rivian with a couple testicles hangin for good measure! Zero interest here.

A good friend of mine (a Jeep owner at that) said one time to me when talking about Audi (his parents had)....they make nice cars, not good cars. Since VW is Audi parent and knowing a couple of owners, I don't have high expectations. I'm guessing the Scout will be decent, but once it gets over 5 years old or so, it will turn into your typical German car maintenance headache.

Looks good overall - the interior especially. Dropped a deposit on the truck in case I'm feeling it in 2027 as a commuter / family hauler.

I'm also interested to see how the dynamic plays out with Rivian.

I bought a Bronco b/c it is an off-road
retro/modern classic American built gas combustion vehicle. Those days are numbered and I will hold on to my Bronco as long as it lasts.

That said, if someone put a gun to my head and said I had to by an EV, the Scout is OK looking - and I think better than any of the truck/SUVs out there looks-wise except for the Lightning. Apparently the scout has 12" of ground clearance, 1,000 lb. ft. of torque. 0-60 in 3.5 seconds. Tows 7,000 pounds. Front and rear lockers. Disco sway bar. Love my Bronco by far, but I don't see the Scout as a bad option - if you really want an EV. Maybe years down the road to go along with my Bronco if gas is $30 a gallon.

I want to let them come out for a while, and hopefully like Tesla, needs a battery and becomes about useless to own any more. Then I want to buy one and put a diesel in it. Watching and being on a frame sounds like a good swap down the road

Nobody mentioned 92" wide!?!?! What??? Super Duty is the skinny kid. Haha

How is that supposed to off road let alone fit in a parking space?

The huge plus is V2H also. The SUV should be able to power a house for a few days after a hurricane when gas is rare lol.

Dropped in a reservations, we’ll see what comes of it. Would be great to replace the RAV4 with something with some off road chops and love the Range Extender option, best of both worlds. Curious how it’ll ride with that solid rear axle and BOF.

Those are…some dimensions though

the off road market is getting interesting: Scout, Land Cruiser, Rivian all adding on to Jeep and Ford. I am happy to see there is demand for this type of trucks, more options for years to come
