What's up with the reported wide 91.6" width of the Scout, I wonder if that number a mistake?

At first I thought maybe the width was due to including the side mirrors in the measure, but based on the image below, seems like the mirrors don't stick out far (if at all) from the body.

And in comparison to other vehicles, the Scout seems to stand out in terms of wide width, apparently beating out even an F150.

Somewhere in the thread there's a correction ...

Update: Scout employee has confirmed that the width of the Scout EV Concepts is 79.9 inches without mirrors (and confirmed that it's 91.1" with mirrors).

It's about 4" wider than the Bronco. Think of it as F-150 or Hummer EV sized.

Thanks for sharing this. When the new Scout becomes available I will have paid off my Bronco. I have made a reservation primarily to stay in the loop with the progress but also because I had a 1972 Scout 2 six-cylinder which I loved except for the fact that it had an exhaust manifold leak that could not be fixed, though I tried several times. I may purchase one and give the Bronco to my son, but who knows? Maybe I will keep them both and my wife will make me live in one of them. I love my Bronco, but I am just an SUV glutton.

What about the oil loss of rotary engines? I’ve never been sure why this happens, but they seem to eat oil. Not sure of the effect on full synthetic.

Ever hear of this and any ideas on it?
Oil "loss" in rotary engines is intentional, or rather in their design.

I have not read all 20 pages of responses, but here is my 1974 REAL Scout… Ok, it had United Airlines coach airplane seats, but it was still a real Scout!

The seats were mounted on bass boat swivels that had no locks… so every turn had the seats banging into the doors. Good times,

That profile must not be very accurate because those mirrors don't stick out past the fenders.

Scout-width-height.jpg
The image is not accurate. Scout will be posting an updated graphic with the correct scale.

Scout keeps adding more and more to counter any argument why this shouldn't be in your driveway. Love the fact they're doing factory pickup in Blythewood! Does that mean no over-inflated delivery charges if you pickup???
