I change mine at 5 because of tire rotation and experience. The eco boost motors tend to have less issues using that interval compared to the ford interval after you cross 100k. I talk a lot with my service department and they are constantly seeing high mileage issue with the 10k oil change.
Thanks for the tip! I plan on owning this vehicle for a while!

I plan to do 5k intervals but won't freak out of one gets extended due to availability or timing, particularly in the winter. Both the motor and the oil I use can easily do 10k but why take it to the edge? I'll be pulling samples and sending them to black stone labs to stay on top of the motor.

Hey Friends,

I have a 2022 Wildtrak with 2.7 and I have 4500 miles on it. Looks like I need a tire rotation as well. So I was planning on doing them. Both within a week, although I pull up my “ford app” and it states I have 50% oil life remaining… Should I still with the every 5K rule? Is there requirements with the factory warranty that I must follow to keep my warranty in good standings. If I can wait, I will wait but I do not want to do anything wrong.. Thanks for the help in advance!

Cheers
do 5000 mile oil changes !

When newer I like 5,000 miles. These engines can have some fuel dillution until broken in (15k-20k miles). The 2.3l has way worse fuel dilution issues.

Looking at people's Blackstone reports, it looks like 7,500 is a good sweet spot for the 2.7l.

Doesn't matter as long as you use 7 quarts.

JK...just wanted to rehash some old wounds. 5k OCI is great.

Everytime an oil thread gets started around here you get 2 opinions that people are willing to fight over:

1 - "I change my oil everytime i turn off the car, once engine oil has gone through a single heat cycle it is worthless and will cause engine failure"

2 - "Changing your engine oil is a conspiracy started by BIg Oil to sell more oil. Ive never changed the oil on my lawnmover and it starts everytime"
