Hey everyone, I have a ‘22 outer banks and just recently my back left tire has been making lots of noise while driving and it almost feels like im driving on a flat. I took a look at the tire and noticed that the metal inside seems a lot more worn out than the other wheels. I was wondering if anyone had a similar issue or had any idea what was going on. I plan on taking to the dealer tomorrow

Might be a stuck caliper that has been applying the brakes causing the pads to wear out and dig into the rotor.

Curious about the age of your 22 OB. I pick mine up this week.

Might just be the pic quality but that disc looksvery grooved as well. Do they feel pitted?I would think if you had a locked or dragging caliper you wouldve smelled it and or felt the heat coming from that tire. Youre not a two foot driver are you? Ive seen pads wear quickly from people resting their foot on brake pedal. Pads will wear down to metal backing in no time pitting the disc. Im sure your not but ive seen it before.

Some type of pad failure. Looks like the rotor will need resurfaced or replaced if it’s not thick enough to resurface. Is it rough on both sides of the rotor or just the one side? Could be a sticking caliper or just a defective pad.

Maybe jammed caliper slide? That rotor looks grooved for sure. With only 8K miles I hope they goodwill warranty that for you. If the caliper itself needs replacing that should be covered for sure. Generally rear breaks are smaller and less powerful, it's no unheard of to not notice the added drag. The metal on metal sound may be obvious.

New rotor on that side and pads on the rear, and maybe a fluid change.

Easy diagnosis & fix once they get in there. Unusual, but not the end of the world.

if your brake has been dragging your mileage would be shitty.
