A good eye for scenes and color like this he could get away with using a potato and still blow us away.
Nikon Z6iii and a selection of lenses from 14mm to 600mm depending on the scene. Drone rarely comes out, the interesting areas where you can fly in North America are restricted mostly to AZ and southern UT.
Older DJI AIr 2S. I am lusting after the Mavic 3 Pro and its second tele lens, but given how restricted drone use is in North America in scenic areas (rightfully so, I might add) I can't justify dropping 3k.
Nope, that is only for summer use, too small to take with photo gear on any trail that takes me more than a mile or two from the vehicle. Some of the trails in Canada had 3000ft+ elevation gain over a few miles, with exposed ridges that are windy as hell.Do you carry the Mystery Ranch daypack ?
That's exactly true. Sometime people on trails will ask me to take their pictures with the comment "you seem like you know what you are doing with that camera" and I tell them "the only thing a spendy camera proves is that I have disposable income". I have cell phone equivalents of most of these shots that look nearly exactly the same at the size posted on the website. And there are photographers out there that will blow me away with their cell phone shots any time of day.
Yep...as a fellow photographer (not full time), I'm the same way. It isn't the camera that matters, it's the 20 years of refining my vision and processes. Much respect as you've obviously done the same!
I know many are not fans of Cyber Orange, but in the context of this picture it was the perfect color.
Not my Bronco. Was in Canada 2 weeks ago doing some photography with the fall color, was very lucky to have timed it perfectly and have excellent weather for the entire duration of my stay. I was parked on the side of a road doing some drone photography when I saw this Cyber Orange Bronco heading my way. Grabbed the camera quickly and did as best as I could to capture the scene.
P.S. This has been perhaps THE most productive photography trip I have ever had. Still not done processing all the images but if anyone is interested, take a peek at the last 30-ish images here - just keep hitting the right arrow.

Only the first 30 or so images from the link are from this trip. The rest are just images from the past year. If you hit ESc to exit full screen mode you should be able to go to other folders that have inhales going back to 2006 or so.

I agree to a point, some are surprisingly good "with good light." They are nice because they're always with us.
