Ordering Process - Your Analogy Thread

I was reading through one of the threads this morning and some of the hilarious analogies members had on the ordering roller coaster we've been going through. @mtap had a great idea of someone starting a thread to compile these together.

Maybe some of these analogies will help bring some humour to this Thursday, where so many tears flow freely when we don't get the coveted "build schedule" email.

I'll get things started: This ordering process feels like getting an ice cream cone, and then your ice cream falls out on the ground. Onto your brand new shoes. And you slip on it.

It's like nudity on a scrambled channel. It's almost there, but you never really see it.

I think we're all going through the seven stages of grief:

Shock and denial.
"What? No email? But I'm a Day #1 reservation! This isn't possible! There has to be an email!"

Pain and guilt.
"Why oh why did I have to have the luxe package...the Sasquatch...the tow bar...MIC top...I'm such a fool!"

Anger and bargaining.
"Dammit I'm going to call my dealer right now. I bet if I switch from a Badlands to a Big Bend with no roof, no doors, and no tires, Ford will send me a VIN this week!"

Depression.
"Aw dang, that's right, my dealer won't return my calls. He already placed my order without telling me and I'm getting the wrong trim, the wrong color, and I may not even be getting a Bronco because he can't tell the difference between a Sport and the real thing."

The upward turn.
"Ooohh..look! My junk folder is full! Maybe, just maybe..."

Reconstruction and working through.
"Hmmm...Viagra, Nigerian prince, and I need to claim my prize from Target, Walmart, and Kohl's. A bunch of naked girls are dying to meet me and this one old lady wants to put a million dollars in my bank account. Just a couple hundred more of these emails to read...I know that VIN is in here somewhere."

Acceptance and hope.
"Nope. Nothing. Just another Thursday on this long, bumpy, painful, excruciating, sadistic, bloodbath of a nightmare. The road to owning the Bronco of my dreams. But like the great Scarlett O'Hara, I will not lose hope, because...."
