I'm guessing he didn't have to wait in the endless Ford order line. Meanwhile many of us feel like the dead people in the movie Bettlejuice. Now serving number 5 and our numbers have six zeros after them. 🙁
Or he bought a used First Edition. I don't think it was mentioned how long he had the Bronco before deciding to modify it some six month ago.

A dealer near me had a used FE last week for $74K. Sold it quickly. I thought about it briefly but at $12K over the original MSRP just couldn't. I am probably just grumpy and frustrated I can't just drop that kind of money with no thought of it. Hopefully if I get my Bronco I'll stop being so grumpy. My wife certainly hopes that. She's already said go buy whatever Jeep you want but I'm just stubborn at this point.

Would drive me nuts presumably not being able to see out the rear window much with that box over the spare, but that's just me.
now, this would be a great application for that trick rear view mirror/camera in the latest land rovers.

Let me guess, you don't like the flares?

:)
Or you know, being as wide as a semi and 500-600 pounds heavier may also have it's downsides....................

I'm still wondering why we just kind of universally decided that the word "camping" was lame.
The people I know that overland vs campers:
Overlanders will drive like 10000 miles staying one night at each spot.
Campers tend to go to a location and stay a while.
Overlanders avoid hiking
Campers tend to hike.
Overlanders tend to look for scenic spots
Campers will go just about anywhere

None of this is bad or good, but there is a difference for sure. We have overlanding gear, but we use it to get to spots so we can do some hiking/canoeing, biking for a couple days. With jobs/kids, we use to just hike to those spots, but we now don't really have time for that.

there are always advantages and disadvantages to every situation. You just stated the disadvantages.

advantages .. bigger motor, much better suspension with 37s (better ground clearance), more towing, ect.

you just have to ask yourself if the positives out-weigh the negatives ... OR not

Going with no winch is certainly a choice. But I'm sure he will have a support/filming crew everywhere he goes anyway, so he won't ever need to self-rescue.

The mount is from adventure labs. They sell all the gear on their site, including batteries. Was considering doing this but decided on a portable unit.
