Think it would make a difference if I switched to a fully loaded Outerbanks vs. Badlands? I know the detachable swear bar isn't a commodity restraint...but who knows...

MIC, 2.7, no tow package.

Like most of you, I've been waiting for a year+ now...I wonder if it will come this year...

It's hard to say because the limiting factor will be the MIC top.

BUT, Outer Banks with the soft top is one of the faster builds (Big Bend being the fastest). So if I were to guess you'll likely get your build faster with an Outer Banks as long as you don't add the Sasquatch or Lux package. Once you add those, it's probably essentially a wash.

I don't think Lux is much of a constraint anymore. The MIC is what will hold him back. A recent build of a loaded OBX was delivered for a late Grange-tober reservation holder. They dropped the tow, but kept the Lux and were scheduled right away leap-frogging the logjam at Granger.

Ya I think the biggest constraint will be MIC.

I have a Defender coming Feb 11th. I'm going to drive it around until my Bronco comes. I'm told I'll make an easy 10k reselling, since there is a slow trickle. And eivr been told even the first batch of Defenders in 22 won't have LCD gauge clusters because of the chip shortage.

Probably very little difference between the two…drop the MIC if you want to move up. I dropped mine and jumped 100+ people at my dealer with a loaded Badlands/Sas (no tow) to get built. The trim levels are not major constraints and haven’t been for a while. The MIC is THE major remaining constraint, and tow to a lesser extent.

I really don't want to get "stuck" with a soft top. Truthly, it'll be an eternity before one will be able to buy one at the parts counter and it will cost a small fortune. It'll just be another cue to line up for lol. Better bet may be trying to find one at a wrecker...

Totally MIC. I bet dirt mountain really set them back. I would imagine they'll realize MOM improvements in MIC output now..

I think it’s MIC more than anything else. I got a build date the week after I switched from 2.3 OBX MIC Tow leather Lux to a 2.7 soft top Badlands Lux
