Been working on an overhead MOLLE panel for the 4 door Bronco soft top. Hopefully making a similar option that will work with the hard top as well. This is the prototype without any cutouts. The originally mounting location we had was hitting my head. Ideally this will be behind the front seat head rests. Any input would be appreciated.

How tall are you? Will taller people hit their head on it? Will attaching items to it dangle down and hit someone's head? Id suggest a little further back out of the way of the driver, without interfering with the passengers in the rear seat.

I'm 6'4". I did hit my head in the originally mounting location so we are moving it backwards to get away from that without interfering with rear seat passengers. It will depend on how you use it. Putting stuff on top will be an option as well....as long as it doesn't hit the top.

how about running it front to back from w/s header to rear crossbar then it's usable by front and rear passengers?
I like that idea. Possibly a large cross. Getting Jesus involved here.

How about further forward towards the overhead console? For radios or just stuff that the driver might quickly need to grab.

Pretty large, but maybe I am not your target audience.

Isn't this counter productive to Ford removing the centre crossbar for the “open air” experience?

I’d prefer to keep the MOLLE stuff to the cargo area or seat backs. Just my 2 cents.

I like that idea as well. Might help out the people that don't have the sunglasses holder too...haha!

I hear ya. It won't be for everyone and that is only a prototype to get the look, feel, and placement.

I agree. I don't want to take away from that experience as I do love having the top down. Like I said above, it won't be for everyone.

How did this turn out?
We ended up switching gears and created the Squatch Basket. We may revisit this in the future after we get a few other projects dialed in. Here is a link to the Squatch Basket.
