Has there been any news, leaks, speculation on availability of paddle shifters? I use the 'manual' mode of my auto trans a lot on the trails, but it's located on the console gear selector.

I'd be in for that. I love them on my Honda Pioneer UTV.

Speaking from first hand experience. Paddle shifting a 10 speed auto gets old. Quickly.

Won't need all ten on the trail . . .

Yeah, I've used it a handful of times. It just isn't worth using.

If they're there, cool - might use them occasionally. If they're not, it's not the end of the world.

The paddle shifters for the auto transmission is very important for such a vehicle designed primarily for Baja terrains. It is also very useful when it is used on sand dunes. The 150 Raptor is equipped with paddle shifters. Ford should consider them as least on the Wildtrak.

I wish the Bronco had them. While descending on twisty mountain roads, using the paddles to control engine braking is much nicer than taking a hand off the wheel.

I'm an engine brake junky in the mountains. I probably use it more than necessary. After you've driven through the Rockies a few times and every time you smell smoking brakes from people that don't understand this you make it a habit.

In my xterra I manually disengage high gear going down long highway hills (like i-70) which should be easy enough on the 10spd gear buttons. I can manually select 1-2-3 as well using the shifter. The real issue is offroading. I dont want tiny buttons to switch between gears. Paddles could work but my preference would be actual gear lever selecting of gears not a thumb button.

I'm afraid the engineers will want me to rely on clicking the hill descent control button. No thanks. Not needed. Just lock the trans in 1st gear. Much easier with paddle shifters.
