Painted Modular Front Bumper

Well, I’ve only had my Bronco for 4 days, and have already started Spray painting it

Ive always loved the look of the modular bumper on the prototype heritage edition Bronco and thought I would give it a shot. Since mine is Hot Pepper Red, I decided to paint the recovery hooks navy, to match the navy pier interior.

3 spray paint cans from Lowe’s later and it is all set. Super easy mod!

It was very easy! Only $30 worth of spray paint and only a few hrs of total labor.

It looks like from the photos, that the rust-oleum matte gray matches the fender flares/hardtop. Can you confirm or post a close up? I may want to copy you, and your paint choice on my beauty rings. Thanks!

It is slightly lighter then the flares and top but the silver skid plate and black bumper make up for it. If I went the same color, it probably wouldn’t have been as noticeable of a contrast.

If you want to get an exact match, I recommend taking one of the fender flares into to store with you. They are very easy to pop off. Just a couple tabs that twist.

You did a great job on the bumper. It might be me, but I’m not a fan of the gloss black OB grill. Mine is a Big Bend, so I like the grill itself just fine. I’d consider painting the grill one of the colors you used on the bumper to tie it in. I’m not smart enough to figure out which one of the colors is the right one. Would Navy Blue Bronco grill letters be overkill? Maybe, but then again they may tie into your hooks. Again, very nice job.

Thanks! I’ve considered changing out the color of the bronco letters, however each one that I’ve seen from pics, blue included, seams harder to read from a distance than the white color. I have however considered painting the sides of the letters to give it a little pop. If you look at the cactus gray preproduction bronco from the release video, you’ll see what I’m talking about.

I too am not crazy about the gloss grill. Although it looks better in person than on photos. I plan to swap it out with the one that @craq5 installed by IAG. Here is a pic of theirs.
