Does anyone know if the composite material of this top would
hold any types of fillers and paint?

I believe its thermoplastic. Might be the same stuff that jeep uses so if they are able to paint it , so would you.

however unless you are going for a body match , i would just go with linex type stuff and make the top indestructable

Not sure on the exact thermoplastic makeup. Quite a lot of discussion on painting it though.

Everyone agrees that the correct answer is a range between ā€œthatā€™ll never workā€ to ā€œIve got a guy who does it all the time and it looks great.ā€

Seems the biggest concern is the MIC top has a very fine texture to it, and thereā€™s no consensus on what you need to do about it to get good adhesion.

Iā€™m sure you can xline the top. Will be a bumpier finish but will outlast the next apocalypse.

Hence the scratch proof feature that the mod top doesnā€™t have.

Will it accept dye? Would really prefer the top to be black

Yep. There's a guy here who runs a shop and has given detailed instructions.

You can paint most any type of plastic these days. Itā€™s all about prep. Being a fine texture means scuffing things down. A lot of plastics require a flex agent, but any skilled painter can make it work... just don't hit up Maaco and expect it to last.
