Partial VIN? Like a handful of random numbers and letters? I can give you the rest of a sequence if you want it to be "complete!"

That makes no sense. I agree with everyone else: VINs aren't created "partially" so you're dealer is blowing smoke.

The only thing I can think of is that they got a hold of the first half of the VIN that codes for region, MY, etc. and are saying that it's yours.

Partial vin??? Ha! That's a new one!
Sure, one could put most of the vin together based on model, engine/drivetrain, etc, but the unique vin that makes it yours isn't issued until it's scheduled to be built.... usually a few months before it's built.

If you have a simple build, it may get built in 2023 IF your dealer has allocations and doesn't have a backlog of unfilled orders.

Yeah there is no such thing as a partial VIN. You either have one or you don’t. The “important” numbers are the last 8 characters. That’s effectively the vehicle’s serial number, and if you have that your golden. (Hence why those numbers are enlarged on the window sticker.)

Props to your dealer for creativity though.

Yea the first set of characters describes the vehicle specifics, the last ones are the unique vehicle characters. Your dealer did not lie about the partial vin but is being deceitful about what a partial vin means.
