Needed a camping storage solution... The Pelican cases fit pretty good on the BAtents rack. This is Pelicans largest cargo case BX140 but they also have a BX90 that could fit long ways (you could actually fit 2 of them on the short rack but lose weight tolernace - only estimated 25 lbs of gear with 2 cargo cases mounted). In this set up I should be able to carry at least 40lbs of camping gear on rooftop rack without issue. Shown sideways as example of length.

The smaller box on back is the BX80 loaded on the BAtents Rear tire platform. This should be able to hold an extra 55lbs of gear inside (case about 20lbs) but I'll be getting a tailgate reinforcement before trying that.

I'll update a pic with them both on there soon.

Pelican makes a quick latch for it that should fit but a bit pricey. If it goes long ways it should be fine but if its across left to right then you have to check case width compared to space of crossbars. For the bx140, the crossbars should 20 inches apart or less. Other than that for mounting, some strap it down on 4 points but for more stability and security you can ubolt it from bottom to crossbar.

Looks great. We are planning something similar to our new Badlands project that begins next week.

Your deflector looks good -- do you like it? I've got the full sized 4-door BA rack with no deflector and am trying to decide whether I want to add it. Usually the wind noise isn't bad, but sometimes with a strong crosswind it gets noisy, and I'm not sure if the deflector would help.

seems to do a good job of reducing wind noise although i haven't taken it out on the highway yet.

I had read that the spare tire rack was already at its limits with the 35".... So did you add a tailgate reinforcement before adding that spare tire carrier?

Have 1 on order but not yet. Didn't have any issues during test fitting as it was fairly light. Definitely would want one added before loading case up though.

Yeah in and out of stock every few days. Once ordered took 2 weeks to get it
This is the one I’m looking for to minimize how much space I’m taking on my Yakima lock n load rack
