With the all-around cameras available on the Bronco, I have wondered why there wasn’t a feature similar to the Performance Data Recorder from Chevrolet on the Corvette and Camaro. I figured that it would not be too hard to implement.
This morning I noticed something with a warning message that I got on the way into work. The message said “Front Camera Low Visibility”. This is for the front grille mounted camera and is a different message than when it ices up. This warning turns off Forward Collision Assist. I thought that it was the camera in the windshield that worked with the FCA but perhaps not, or maybe it is both cameras together.
So… if the cameras are always being monitored, I wonder how hard it would be to pull the feed and record it, maybe with some sort of CAN Bus device? At least until Ford gets their act together and adds it as a feature.
