Does anyone know if Rapid Red is a new color to Ford? Will the dealer body shop have it in stock?

bondo is not a commodity either - which is what it looks like I am getting.
WTF? Id want a new hood, not a body shop hood. That’s ridiculous.

This is the downside of special order cars - which all of these are. Typically, a good number of cars arrive at dealerships with some damage, but they don't go on the sales floor until they are fixed. We are learning about all the damage because we know when they are being delivered. I hate it for everyone that has to deal with it, but it may be more common for other cars it's just this forum is scrutinizing every minor detail.

Fill in the dents? 🤔

I’ve used a dent guy who does magic pulling/pushing/rubbing out dents.

And I have given him some good sized dents to work on!

Yes there’s a story behind each one, but my lips are sealed.
Paintless dent repair. Hoods are easy. Quite an industry actually. Main thing the OP needs to do is make sure the repair does no show up on a database anywhere...

I will get some tonight when I go down to the dealership.
I accidentally replied to the wrong damage thread.

Anyway, find out if this is a carrier damage claim or if dealer eating. To f around with filling dents then painting anyway, they should just try to get a new hood if one is available. They have a rep they can shake down or loyalty funds to cover the difference if the carrier is paying.
If no painting was involved I’d say PDR it and keep the OE hood.

I can't speak to the paint chip(s), but as an update on the dings/dents on my hood caused by a fallen tree limb, I thought I'd be looking at having to get a new hood (probably long wait for the part itself, then body shop have to paint it and match it) since the hood is aluminum, but the body shop guy looked at it today and said he can fix it via PDR. So there may be that option. But if you have to repaint, you may as well get a new hood.

Not to mention you technically haven't taken delivery yet, so you should accept nothing less than a new, perfect vehicle. My damage occurred less than five days and less than 3/4 of a tank of gas after delivery.

I’d raise a big stink and request in this order: 1st, PDR and touch up the chip. 2nd new hood. 3rd PDR then paint if necessary. Last fill and paint.
Avoid re paint if possible especially with a color like Rapid Red.

Question: @flip or anyone else - will there be an insurance claim registered against my VIN by the dealership against the transpo company?

No, if it hits a certain $$ they have to do a disclosure statement but a hood won’t hit that. That is state mandated, this is basically a warranty claim.

Do these Broncos ship in any protective wrap like other makers cars do? Even just front and doors? They don't right?
