Hi,

Im looking for photos of the security drawer installed, especially the gaps on the side and in the rear by the seats. I can't seem to find any that show this.

There is someone selling a used one locally and In interested in it but I have concerns about the gaps and stuff getting trapped in there.

I also have a German Shepherd and I'm not sure if my dog would be able to sit on top of the drawer when we go hiking?

Thanks,

Jim

Thanks but that's the same photos I keep seeing taken from outside. I'm looking for a top down view focused on the gaps. Would like to visualize the space there.

Jim

Perfect thank you. Do you feel a large dog could sit on top or would it be impractical?

IMO, I think it could, however I'd probably get a piece of plywood or something and lay it across to fill in all the gaps (and maybe put a piece of mat on it, like I have on my security drawer for a bit more comfort). Alternatively, if you have a larger dog bed for it that might fit, that could be a quick alternative too. I think without that, you risk a dog stepping into the 2" sides or the 5" back gap, even accidentally when you turn a corner or something.

Or, you could just stuff some larger towels in the gaps to fill them in too.

Just my 2 cents.

I have 3 dogs, a GSD and a GSD mix, then a smaller one. All 3 ride back there on an extra dog bed I put in when I take them. I don't have my drawer in though. I will put that in when I wheel without the dogs.

We have 3 dogs too, 2 see GSD's though I rarely have all 3 in at once.

Your cargo drawer isn't permanently installed? How to you secure it?

Ok great. Yes I was going to put a board across the top with some padding and fill in the gaps. I was more thinking height wise... Is she going to have enough room above her head and is getting in and out going to be possible with the top? As it is now, I usually raise the back of the soft top. If the floor is essentially raised 10 inches or so, will my dog be able to jump up there or even if I lift her have enough room with the soft top?

Thanks for the replies.

Im not sure on the height piece… I feel like it might be a bit cramped. Maybe someone else can comment more on that, sorry.

I use a ramp or collapsible stairs for my dogs. GSD only has 3 1/2 legs. I don't let her jump out to keep stress off her one good shoulder and back. It will be close with the drawer in there for getting in and out. They will have plenty of room once in.

How ironic that I’m trying to sell one, and I carry a Sig 226!😂 and a German shepherd!
