Jeep WK2
Hey All - First time posting. Long time lurker. Anyway, was out in Colorado this past week. Spent the week wheeling my Jeep WK2 and doing some overlanding with my girlfriend. On the way out of Denver, we stopped for the night at a hotel near the airport. After checking in, I went to park the Jeep. I pulled around a corner and there she was. Judging by the wheels, it appears to be an outer banks package test mule. By the looks of it, it's been beat on pretty hard. I took some pictures last night and this morning. I also parked my Jeep next to it to give folks a sense of the Bronco's height. Keep in mind my Jeep has a 2-2.5 in OME lift and 32 inch tires, plus the roof top tent. Really hoping the tow package brings up the tow rating. Right now, that whimpy hitch won't cut it for me. I pull a 4k lb boat/trailer with my WK2. Fingers crossed we get more info on this soon. To get me to pull the trigger, I need 5k towing capacity. Otherwise, I'll go with a Gladiator diesel. Enjoy the pics. Looking forward to folks' comments.

Guessing as an early test model, it's probably not tied to any specific trim. Obviously the soft top is just custom job to hide the silhouette.

Man that thing looks beat to shit! It’s kinda crazy to think that Ford is still doing testing at this late stage. Thanks for the “spy” photos!

Mirrors and flares are right, don't think the rims are though at least going by the reservation pic. Door handles, don't know what's going on there. Like @harperrb said a lot of the mules are a mix match of stuff right now. Hell this one still has its camo remnants, but the matching body color stuff is prolly a nod to OBX.

Definitely the flat screen TV 12" display 😆

Cool pics, thanks!

Everytime I see this style of pre production bronco. I keep thinking are they gonna go with a 45*soft top in the rear. Like jeeps have and which would follow the flow of the bronco rear roll bar.

I don't want to get to worked up over a test mule, but what is going on with those frameless windows? It looks like there aren't sealing at all. One of the things I hate about my son's Wrangler is the recurring leaks during the rain. I'm hoping the Bronco will be better.

Given the level of beat on that mule and the more flexible soft top, there's a decent chance they just popped out of the groove they're supposed to track in.
